B.o.B Concert, And The Future Of Rap.

Recommended Posts

So basically, I just got home from BoB's concert at my school. He's f*cking great live, even though the speakers at the concert sucked. It was tons of fun, but I realized something I haven't thought about before.

Rappers are getting smarter and more insightful. I dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but they are gradually returning to how it was back in the 90's. Instead of rapping about sex, drugs, cars, booze, etc, they are starting to write songs about some really clever sh*t.

In my opinion, I think rap will soon be higher than it has ever been before. A lot of the biggest rappers, Eminem, Lupe, BoB, Kid Cudi, are moving towards the intelligent side of rap.

Thoughts??

I don't think I'm as hopeful as you are. Aside from those four you named (+ The Cool Kids) who else is there?

Even Kanye, Drake, and Lil Wayne, the other 3 big names in rap that I can think of, are drifting towards smarter sh*t. Most of their stuff is still the crap rap, but it's getting better.

But even 4 rap stars is better than what has been the past few years.

Mississippi rapper, Big KRIT is the future of rap. Hasnt even dropped his debut album yet, and has a couple classics under his belt. Has dropped 2 classic mixtapes: K.R.I.T Wuz Here, and Return of 4eva(came out earlier this week). Also check out Kendrick Lamar, and G-Side. They're dope, too.

Oh and B.o.B cool; atleast his old sh*t is. His album is a lil too "pop" for me. I try, but I cant really get into Lupe. His production sucks too me. People complain about there not being any good hip hop, but it's out there if your willing to look. Shoot, we have a couple great hip hop artists in our own backyard, in J. Cole and Little Brother(well, they split up so nvm but Phonte is a beast!)

I'm talking mainstream though. Obviously you can find a lot of good artists who aren't that big yet, but the stars are getting better.

It took me a while to get Lupe, I thought he was overratingly underrated at first, but it caught on. As for B.o.B, some of his songs are too pop oriented, but he's got some really good stuff out.

    • I turned to the NFL Network and they are playing the Wildcard Game against the Rams I think we gained a lot of respect around the league we hung in there for a while into the 4th Quarter 🙂
    • Does anyone know for sure if the game tonite will be on HBO max?  That is where I watched the last one and only access I currently have- I am in SE NC and no broadcast stations carry the games.😖
    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying
