Hurney and JR have both publicly said that they intend to re-sign TD to a long-term deal as soon as a new CBA is in place. I think it would take something major for them to reverse course on that, especially since he will come pretty cheap. If I had to guess, it'd either be a Smitty trade, or Baker getting the axe.

signing a guy to a long term deal who has only played in 7 of the last 32 games doesn't seem like a wise move......seems like like the type thought proccess of signing a post Tommy John Delhomme to a big deal after the AZ game. But that is just me.....

I'm not saying that I think it is necessarily smart, just that Hurney and JR have both said it on multiple occasions. If they didn't plan on keeping him, they would have just avoided the question.

I just found it odd Davis made the comment he wanted to test the waters.... you only want to test waters to get an idea about $.
