No, it's actually an interesting discussion, and it would appear that a lot of people care (seeing the number of views).

We need a first this year. So offering our first this year for team X's second this year and their first next year makes sense for the #1 overall pick? What if they pick 20 next year? Tell us how this would make sense. Nevermind, dont.

It's all a gamble! Damn, what is there not to understand? If you're gonna agree to disagree, then just do it. Personally, I want them to use the pick.

WTF with all the attitude? I guess you guys just want love-hate Cam threads.

Okay the only way im tradeing down is for there first this year, there second this year and afirst next year. If i cant get this then i dont want to trade down. Then next year we will have 2 first round picks and maybe we can trade them to get up to take luck. But to be honest who ever is holding that first pick will not trade out to get Luck. And barkley will be gone also depending if we are pick lower then 5 or 7. And then the carolina panthers still want have a Quarterback. Thats why this year they are looking at Newton and gabbert and praying that whoever it maybe works out. Thats why this year in the draft Carolina will select a Quarterback its more of a big risk tradeing back to get that then it's with draft Cam Newton Or Gabbert. You either get something or you might not get nothing.

You can never move forward until you have a franchise QB..you will struggle to get to 8-8 at best every year and maybe luck into a good season through a soft schedule..We've been set back years by Fox's game manager philsophy and many people seem to still want to wait til next year. We've been waiting til next year for 5 years now.

Why in the hell do so many people act like a second round pick is the most important thing in the draft. Like having a second rounder is guaranteed to add instant impact to our team.

Seriously look at our second round draft history........ go. Now. Look at it. Do it.

Then get back to me.

Trading back to anything less than 5 or six in the first takes us out of the elite players in this draft at our positions of need. I'm not counting Fairley for gods sake.

Who at 10-12 and 42-44 are going to make this team special?

IF a decent offer comes in in the top five then we can likely still get a blue chip player at a position of need. And take a CHANCE on getting a decent player in the beginning of the second. This only makes sense if the offer is made and our coaching staff and FO feel that there is no QB (our #1 need and the single most important position in football) in this draft that will be a future franchise guy.

    • Miami plays Cleveland and Atlanta has Boston.
    • There is a possibility that however people were measured it differs from what is being done elsewhere.  There were apparently a number of prospects that disagreed with their measurements at the combine... Maybe I just missed it but I'd never heard of this level of it before.
    • https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp Going by this chart that won’t get it done, at all.  both of our 5th rounders are worth 56, total.    The 51st is valued at 390. Moving to 41 takes 100 points. In the second where we are, it is basically 10 points per slot. You can get in front of TB for 60 points. Baltimore at 45.  Which who would do that for 56 points? You are on a wing and a prayer.    To realistically have a good shot at these top guys, outside of Golday, it is gonna take at least 100 points, I am thinking.  And when they go, Golday’s market probably gets a lot hotter.  Just going by the rankings/valuations, I am thinking if you realistically want to assure you get your guy it will take trading back in the first. Which is why I have been saying to do that if we can.  For example 19 is valued at 875. 21 is 800. That, plus one of the 5ths gets you to 100 points which you theoretically could use to get to 41.    I think there are going to be several good options for us at 19, if we are good with taking what is left at 21-23 we can get a good player plus fund a trade up for one of these LBs which is what I am thinking makes sense.
