He basically kicked him in the nuts by saying "If Hurney thinks there is a QB that can be a franchise guy, then he needs to take him." I think Gross is speaking his mind tbh. I don't think he cares about Clausen's feelings.

Jordan joked that DeAngelo missed a boat outing because he was in Miami courting the Dolphins.

DeAngelo then tries to clear up "this Miami Dolphin thing." Says he was in Miami doing a triathalon, and got interviewed by Sid Rosenberg. Says the conversation was taken somewhat out of context and made it seem like something that it wasn't.

That should be a relief for those of us hoping for him to stay.

He got on Gross for saying Dareus and picking safe. He wants to pick Cam, but he doesn't want to spit in Clausens face. DW is more realer than Gross! He feels the "O" is the biggest need.

Deems-"Panthers getting their fans back" is biggest priority. Thinks the pick should be PP7.

Gross-Panthers can become relevant again "within a year or two." if they do it right through the draft and free agency. Thinks safest pick is Dareus (as stated before)

DeAngelo-If we have football, draft will play a big part in Panther's future "depending on who we draft. People say defense wins championships, I think offense sells tickets." Seems to be a little defensive of Clausen here. Didn't want to say we should take a QB, receiver, etc. because he didn't want to spit on anyone's face (Clausen or Smith). This is gonna be a spiel... i'll start a new post

Maybe not a long spiel, but DeAngelo is adamant that taking a defensive player will not help the offense. He says "The defense is not the issue. The offense is the issue." And defends players like Landri and Irving, pointing out the criticisms of CJ before he put up double digit sacks last season.

Doesn't sound like DeAngelo's going to give an answer though.
