The Trade No One Has Talked About

Alright guys I am a long time fan of the huddle, I have read the threads and have agreed, disagreed, laughed and cried ok maybe not cried. This is my first time post.

What do you guys think about this trade scenario? Peppers to Cleveland Browns for Brady Quinn and there first round pick this year. Then we take that #5 pick overall and trade down for more picks during the draft. We trade down and pick up a replacement DE and get another second round pick or even a first next year. What do you guys think?

Be easy on me. LOL....

What about Cleveland makes you think Peppers would want to play there? If your answer is he wouldn't want to play there then you know why no one is discussing this trade. If Peppers won't agree to a long term deal with the trade partner, there won't be a trade.

I would crap myself for that trade. Absolutely CRAP myself.

I've been a supporter of Quinn since his college years and I think he'll eventually become a top-tiered QB. Without a doubt. He just needs the right team to play on. Not sure if the Browns are the answer.

But of course, there is no way in hell that deal would be struck. Maaaaybe if Derek Anderson had gone out and had another Pro Bowl year this past year, then Quinn would be seen as unnecessary. But with the crap play of Anderson and the fact that Quinn showed he could be a starter, there is no way they'll toss Quinn to a trade. No way.

    • Other things - I agree could get him fired one day. However, not drafting a tight end this year is not going to be any reason. DC couldn't really do much with how many of the tight ends most of us figured would be around day 3 went day 2. Tight ends I would have liked for us to get day three like Delp, Roush, and Raridon went in the 3rd. I think we were smart not joining that tight end Rush and instead focused on a receiver that was great value where we got him in the 3rd round.
    • He so is far from being what people claimed he was.   What he was, is we hope and pray for consistently average in year 4. That’s what he is.  We should just move on if that’s the best he can be.
    • I am gonna believe it wasn’t us if the 4th round pick price is accurate. We needed 225 points to get from 19 to their pick. 875 at 19 to 1100 at 14.  Our 2026 4th was valued at 56 points I think. A future 4th has less value. So that wasn’t close to enough.    It would have taken our third and our fourth. Comes within a point of even.    Now, moving to their spot in the second round we could have done but after Miami took Rodriguez why would we?
