Why the owners will win no matter what or why billions matter more than millions

Recommended Posts

If the Owners aren't hiding something then why hadn't they released the financial papers? You talk about going broke, but you have no papers or documentation to prove it?

These are NOT publically traded companies. You will NOT get a privately held company to open up their financial records....nor should they.

I would like to see any employees go to the owners of a privately held company and say....Hey, we would like to see your financials. We want to see how much you are really makinng so that we can demand a bigger piece of the pie. Try it and we will see you in the unemployment line.

Once the players finally understand that they are nothing more than high priced EMPLOYEES, we can end this. Until then, they will drag this out with their absurd expectations and perceived rights.

If the players want the rights of ownership, all they need to do is invest in the teams. Stroke the check...buy a piece of the team...and you get ownership rights. Until then, they are still nothing more than an EMPLOYEE.

I don't think people have a problem with the owner's making a profit. Hell, even windfall profits are reasonable in a monopoly (don't fool yourself into thinking it's anything short of one). But these businessmen that supposedly care so much about the future of football and its fans are selling you a lie. They negotiated TV contracts LONG before negotiating a new CBA so that they could lock out the players instead of working out a deal. Perhaps they have nothing to hide in their financials...but they certainly don't care as much about the fans as they would have you believe.

I think we banter the "love of the game" phrase around a little too loosely. Putting it in a different context, I am fulfilled in my job and respect those I work with work for and most of thosenwho work for me. Despite my love of career, if and when situations arise that are not pleasant or agreeable, I work towards ironing those out.

I think that is what's happening with the NFL now. It's just under a very powerful microscope.

If the players want to be billionaires, start a business people want. You don't become uber-rich being employees.

*** the slave metaphor. Wanna get rich? make something people want. simple.

we all work for somebody. I think the true slaves of America with sore backs and scared hands would laugh at the slave analogy. or cry...
