moose will get more targets just because he will be on the field whole lot more. too invaluable in the run game for him not to be.

jarrett will have a better year than last year but moose will still have more targets and better numbers.

I told you all about DWill this last season, now I am telling you about Jarrett.

Jarrett will be that next great suprise.

You heard it here 1st.

That Jarrett would be a force this year is hardly a new concept, we've been talking about it for years. Now it's time for him to show it...

I'll give you the fact that wide receivers blocking is essential for the running game. You couldn't be any more right about anything else. The receivers are the ones who spring the running backs for the home runs. In essence, we wouldn't be as dominant without the blocking down field. However, would it be a possibility to see some three set receiver formations and run out of there? I just really want Jarrett to be on the field and honestly, I don't see how Muhammad is that much better than Jarrett at blocking. Jarrett might be a very physical receiver because he does lack that breakaway speed but I don't think it holds back from his game. Give the guy a starting role and he will produce. It's time to move on from Muhammad and get younger at the position.

he's considered to be one of the best blocking receivers in the NFL. no way do you limit his being on the field. jarrett can learn how to do it better and is improving. at TC last year i was paying close attention to his blocking (just because i wanted to see how well jarrett was doing at other aspects of the game) and he did ok but he wasn't at the level that moose is. it's important for jarrett to learn but it's more important for us to win games and to do that you need moose blocking downfield. 3 receiver sets would be good but i don't know that it's enough for jarrett to bypass moose on targets.

But but but, he's old! Jarrett has his chance this year, he needs to show it and I think he will. But the BS that Moose is washed up is just that. It's certainly time to develop a 4th, but our first three, for this year, are in place...

This season will be his last chance...with us anyway.

Agreed.

This is the final year of his rookie contract. He was given the cushion not play his rookie year, only to make a few debuts on plays specifically designed for his success. On those debut routes he demonstrated a poor playbook knowledge, hinting to work ethic problems.

In his second year, he only had to provide playable backup to an aging Moose, or an injured journeyman Hackett. Yet his alleged skill was still rarely seen, even while TE Dante Rosario was catching game winning passes.

He'll produce this year, or he'll work for peanuts and on some other team's practice squad. If we draft a receiver thats decent this year, Jarrett may not make the final roster.

His career is literally hanging on by a thread. I hope he steps up, because we certainly need him to do so.

in this order

smith 9 targets a game

moose ≥ 5 targets per game

jarrett ≤ 5 targets per game

now in the red zone, he may see a good bit of love. the WR3s were targets in the red zone 9 times last year compared to smitty at 14 and moose at 16 (yes, moose was targeted more in the red zone than smith). i could see jarrett moving up to 10 red zone targets which might mean a TD or two.

if all 3 remain healthy (most preferred) high side for jarrett is going to be about 50 catches/700 yards/3-4 TDs.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
