What about Cam will revolutionize the game?

the Pac 10 is a joke. hopefully, so are most of your posts.

Do you have any insight to add to back up your claim that these people who have a clear bias against Cam would rank the schedules that way?

Or do you think it's just that you don't watch enough Pac10 football because it's past your bedtime and you can only regurgitate what ESPN tells you?

you quoted the freaking Sporting News(without a link, i might add). if they claim that the top 10 SOS came from the Pac 10, they're on crack. people might get sick of hearing about SEC speed, SEC defenses, and how tough it is for a team to go through an SEC schedule without slipping up at least once or twice but those stereotypes exist for a reason. if you don't believe me, pick any random NFL roster and see how many of their defensive players came from the SEC.

It's not a joke, but it certainly has been a passer friendly league. Other than Rodgers and Palmer, the first round qbs coming out of the PAC 10 in the last 10-15 years have been awful.

I disagree. He was a stretch at #1 overall. He wasn't even considered a round 2 pick until his big final couple of games at UGA. He's a tough son of a bitch but it looks like luck is not going to be on his side.

Kiper had him pegged as the future #1 overall coming out of high school...barring an injury or a complete failure, his future was always linked to the NFL more so than college.

You play this game of making strong general statements and demanding specifics from people who disagree with them....

I think I'm going to go back to tuning you out.

sorry bro, I realize I have strong opinions but that is what a message board is for......I don't insult people and despite disagreeing with people have no issues with anyone I disagree with. Some of my favorite posters here are ones I have strongly disagreed with in prior seasons. If you need to put me on ignore so be it.

You don't see how the system one is in can make a difference? You still think comparing the SEC from last year to the PAC10 of years ago is a valid comparison? You ignoring the fact that the PAC10 had the 10 strongest SOS this season.

.

I do think a system one is in can make a difference.....you seem to only want to apply that to Cam while ignoring that in others.

I mean, look at all the record breaking USC WRs that have come through under Pete Carroll.......reality is those guys have all done the same thing in the pros (nothing). Why do you think the mighty USC offense all those years wasn't producing guys who could do it in the pros?

It wasn't the Sporting News that had the Pac10 top 10 this year, it was Sagarin system.

Historically the SEC has been one of the better defensive conferences but last year they were average at best as a whole. The fastest defense Auburn faced was Oregon and Cam had a mediocre performance at best.

Make no mistake about it, being more athletic than a college defense is fine, but it takes more to beat NFL defenses.

You're comparing QBs to WRs.

Steve Smith says Hey!

Along with many others.

The USC offense was similar to an NFL offense that's why it doesn't get brought up as much.

No I am not.....I was talking about the USC system and the offensive production that comes from not only the QBs but offensive players in general. It has to with Pete's system and a lot of the defenses they faced. Pete Carroll college super studs overall have flopped based on perception as they went into the NFL....

there is a reason Matt Leinart and Mark Sanchez put up great college number and flopped in the pros along with most of their highly touted WRs......I don't see how you can emphasis a players system and ignore that with your USC boy.

For every Steve Smith there was a Dwayne Jarrett, Keary Colbert, and Mike Williams to counter. Same goes for the QBs. I mean, Steve Smith is your great example......a NFL WR who put together a whopping 1 season with 1000 yards.

that's true. the Pac 10 is a lot stronger than it was in USC's heyday but it still seems like a top heavy conference that cares more about the passing game and trying to put points on the board than it does about playing defense.

right now, it seems like Oregon and Stanford are the premier teams with USC on the way down. other than that, it seems like the other 7 teams are the epitome of mediocrity....if not worse.

It's not a joke, but it certainly has been a passer friendly league. Other than Rodgers and Palmer, the first round qbs coming out of the PAC 10 in the last 10-15 years have been awful.

Sagarins is a flawed formula. The PAC-10 benefits from having 9 conference games and their SOS got major extra credit for losses to Boise State and TCU by Oregon State. Sagarins is as poor a way to determine conference strength as college stats are to evaluate NFL talent ;)

not to mention Reggie Bush, Lendale White, and Joe McKnight. icam about most of the offensive players from USC being colossal underachievers at the next level.

Palmer (Good)

Leinart (Bust)

Booty (5th Rounder)

Sanchez (Early, but good signs)

Barkley (Promising)

They've had 1 guy bust out of the 3 that were high draft picks. That's better than the average rate for high QB picks but throw something else out there.
