NY motorcyclist dies on ride protesting helmet law

He also would not have been in a situation if had chosen to get in a car. It is pretty amazing that your brother nearly died last night and you have no concern about his riding a motorcycle

I never said I don't want to wear a helmet and I am not sure where you got that. I drove a bike for 6 years and wore a full faced helmet everytime. I just didn't kid myself that being on a bike was safe.

Just the fact that you said "drove a bike" proves that you did not, in fact, ride a bike in any fashion.

My bro doesn't own a car.

He'd have hit the deer last night no matter if he was on two wheels or four. The deer could have come through the windshield and killed him. Would you be saying he should never drive a car?

yes, because people never die when the car they are in hits a deer. riding is a lifestyle, of which you obviously do not partake.

i have had good friends die in bike accidents and ride more in their honor rathef than less due to fear

You keep turning this around into a defense of bike riding which I am not attacking. To the extent i think you are just creating strawmen at this point.

Read my posts in the a.m. with a clear head.

Don't forget he's a cyclist, not a biker.

Well I can see there is no point with this thread, devolution into insults as usual.

Hope your bro feels better and floppin i hope you don't go to jail!

Yes, you are. You've done nothing but attack riding. lol

No I clearly stated that I support cyclists and have been consistent on that all along. The word cyclists is something i gained while living overseas. Same with driving a bike. Sorry if I don't use the proper words.

So far you've insinuated my brother deserved it because he rides a bike. You've insinuated that biker's are idiots for riding bikes. You've insinuated that just getting on a bike is dangerous all by itself.

Calling a biker a cyclist around these parts is just asking for an ass kicking if you say it to the wrong one. ;)

I did not insinuate that your brother deserved anything.

I did not insinuate that bikers are idiots in fact I have constantly defended bikers both here and in real life.

I have insinuated that getting on a bike is extremely dangerous relative to getting in a car.

My point is that the biggest factor of whether you will die on a motorcycle is the fact that you got on a motorcycle not whether you wore a helmet.

As far as getting my ass kicked by a redneck who doesn't understand semantics, I'm not too worried about that.

Tell your brother to get well soon.

It's obvious you know absolutely nothing of the biker world. Or even the fringe of it. Maybe you should just stop digging yourself a hole.

You're comments have come off as being holier than thou and condescending toward bikers.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
