Here's a link to an article on Pro Football Focus listing the top 51 free agents as they see it:

http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/07/11/top-51-free-agents/

Charles Johnson is # 2

DeAngelo Williams is # 13

James Anderson is # 29

They list Steve Smith at # 42? (he's not a FA last time I checked unless they are talking about the other Steve Smith, but it sounds like they are describing our SS?)

Personally, I think # 13 is too low for DeAngelo they have him rated lower than Ahmad Bradshaw.

I actually think bringing SS from NY would be a good idea. Or Braylon.

I just want another WR that has seen some games.

edit: Or Lance Moore. If we intent on keeping our SS as the number 1, which we should, Moore would be an excellent slot receiver.

Braylon and/or Floyd should suffice. Smitty in the slot all day.

    • Unfortunately you just can't get through to some of these folks. The most successful season in Panthers history our #1 WR was Ted Ginn Jr who had just as many bone headed drops as he did highlight touchdowns. We already have the highest paid OL in the league two years running. We need a balanced roster more than anything else clearly.

I think it would be like getting two for the price of one really allowing us to feel more holes getting a wide receiver and another spot filled for nothing but two or three draft spots.
    • I saw a mock draft where Monroe Freeling falls to the Panthers at 19 and if that happens they'd better rush their card to the podium.
