Double Trouble top two most elusive RB's in the NFL over the last 3 seasons

J-stew will eventually leave, I'm pretty sure he's tired of the backup role. Once his contract is up in 2013.

Stewart will eventually take over the starting role as early as this season. And by the time 2013 roles around he'll be in the same situation Williams is in this season.

He hasn't really been a 2nd string or back-up player. As the use of multiple running backs becomes more popular the media and sports world will learn to pay attention to the role players that aren't officially 1st on the depth chart. Stewart also doesn't have a lack of carries based on those other running backs.

Williams doesn't have an ego that will block being a back-up. I think he wants to win, have fun, be respected, and get paid in that order.

Yeah, being the starter is great, but sharing the load, playing longer on a winning team. Winning championships is most important.

Looks to me like Stewart made more $$ in 2009, unless I am reading it wrong.

Anyway they seem to be having a lot of fun playing together and carrying the teams offense. It would be stupid to even think of trading either. They have been the only thing worth watching lately. I would love to find out what kind of damage they could do with a passing game to back them up.

I kinda like the idea for Stewart and Williams switching roles. I think when they were both healthy the coaches did a good job of rotating them. The FO needs to keep both of them. They win games

The scenario I like best is Stewart for when the O-line is blocking well. He hits the hole harder and punishes defenders. He's gotta be so demoralizing to tackle. He just drives his legs better than nearly any back I've ever seen. Williams does too but he's leaning into it much further than Stewart who makes it look easy. Adding in that he splits carries and is not a danger to be run into the ground he's never tired in the 4th. A power back who is always fresh is salivating, why would we want to mess with that?

I like Williams to be used maybe 30% of the time. He's miles ahead of most NFL backs on the cutback. That's just his forte and it can be absolutley back breaking for a defense. But he can still do very well just following the O-line.

Goodson now that he's had some starting experience and carries I think he can be a very good 3rd down back. He's the best receiver easily.

I like Sutton too but there may not be enough to go around. Also maybe Fiametta could be a weapon too.

Very exciting to think about the offense. I hope I'm not being too biased but honestly DT and QB were the worst corps and leauge by far. That really just made the house of cards fall apart. We're very talented and we can be competitive this year. The defense and running game can be top 5 in the league right away and that worked for the 04 steelers, 08 ravens, and 09 jets. We are very close to that model I'm telling yah!

U guys ever notice how the same people make the same ridiculous posts all the time... These posts scream "I know almost nothing about football" while they try to convince you what's best for the team...

Just wondered if anybody else noticed this.

Edit: not directed at SouthNarolina... Just an observation I have noticed in this forum in general...

Stewart is a VERY talented back, and deserves to be the primary back. We don't need to waste more talent like we did with Deangelo and starting foster over him.

you realize you just came up with "Stew will want to leave" based on an opinion that has nothing to do with Stew wanting to leave.......

Cause I really don't know much about the game. I know the basic rules and good from bad. I enjoy watching. I just don't know the playbook stuff. I wanted to give my opinion on the two headed monster.

Drugs are for losers.

Most PSL owners are not dumb at all I think they are actually very intelligent about the team. But obviously if they can afford PSL's they are probably not a poor college student and they cannot afford to know everything about the team as they work a lot, instead of studying a lot followed by summers of not much more than 40 hours a week at work/interships.

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
