If he doesn't spend the money we have on improvements, it was a waste.

He already has... we've gotta pay Cam and the other guys we drafted... we locked up our key players and added that decent DT from KC. I'm sure there will be some additional FA signings... guarantee that's what they're doing today (along with getting Cam signed).

Agree about the fans too... the Panthers haven't ever had a particularly strong fanbase, at least not like the older teams (Packers, Steelers, Bears, etc.) Once we start winning all those fair weather fans will come back... and if they don't... :lol:, f*ck em, we'll get some new ones.

I just don't see a lot of real improvements for the poo we were put through.

If he had a plan all along and he's some genius, he could/should have signed some guys that weren't on the 2-14 team to help us improve while also keeping the good players from that team.

Signing a DT that you can't even name isn't the improvements we need.

I believe JR said we were working on extending our own guys today so I don't know how much more of an impact we will make in FA, could be slim pickings when we are ready to make a move but hopefully he surprises me.

I just think it's a little early to call him a genius if we go to camp with the same team + Cam.

In that situation we just got lucky that Clausen was that bad.

Apples and oranges. The only thing fans in the stands have to be is loud and enthusiastic. Fans on a message board should have some measure of decorum and respect.

Stupidity is harder to tolerate here where it's more personal.

the biggest improvement is the coaching staff TRD. you know that. we've gone from an HC who didn't care to one with something to prove. that alone gives me hope. i am a little bitter that the move wasn't made last year just to save money, but it seems you are more so.

Of course I am, we are a year behind because of it.

Coaches don't count against the cap right? That's the reason we got all this cap room and didn't sign anyone last year and all that stuff? So we could sign Rivera? Seems thin.

Nothing says we can't get a new coach and some new players. If we have the room, we have the money, we have the need, why not?

I can't say I understand keeping Fox around last year either. There's still some time left for getting some more players though, and I believe we've been in contact with some today. I don't believe everything I read though. At the same time not everything is printed. I'm giving it time.

I honestly don't know. Sometimes I feel the coaches are enough but other times I feel like Cam is a huge step backwards for us. We haven't REALLY addressed the DT spot, corner or safety. Our WR are probably below average if we are being honest, even though I think Gettis could become great.

Who knows.

Yes, most athletes care about money first, winning second. If they didn't care about money, they wouldn't hold out, they wouldn't want top dollar, they would try and team up with other elite players to win championships, but you rarely, if ever, see that.

D Will saw it as his last payday and a chance to extend his career by splitting carries with Stew and CJ got a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge payday.

Word on the street was that we paid somewhere around 11 mil more for D Will than anyone else was willing to. CJ signed where the money was as well.

Not saying they don't think we'll win, just that money talks and the facts back that up.

      I think that Cam rubbed some refs the wrong way, but I had forgotten this stuff. Should not matter.  I remember being furious with Rivera. I personally think Rivera was the most overrated coach in Panther history--he had Cam, weapons, a great defense--and never had back-to-back winning seasons.  As a Coordinator in San Diego with Norv Turner (I believe) I recall a season when they were #1 on D and #1 on Offense and still struggled to make the playoffs.
