Besides Abe and Gonzo, we should field the same players then that we do now(barring injury) I don't under stand how Ryan will fall on his face with two more years under his belt and only being 27 years old.

Unless your argument is that the Panthers are gonna own the NFL, thus the Falcons have zero chance. In that case I would have to call you a homer.

Y'all are hating. Minny's DL is so overrated. The Williams pair combined for 1.5 sacks combined. Jamaal Anderson had more. Abe is just as great a pass rusher as Allen and Babineaux has led the league in TFLs a couple times and is a great interior rusher.

After seeing the contract, honestly I would rather have let CJ walk and sign Edwards at that price.

For the price the Falcons paid for him, Ray Edwards was a solid signing. I wholeheartedly disagree with rocknrolla though, I'd much rather have CJ at his price than Edwards at his. The Edwards signing is a little like the Dunta Robinson signing last year. A somewhat big name decent player at a position they need, only this time at least they didn't overpay. Is Ray Edwards going to be enough to make the Atl defense respectable? Probably not, but they can use their 1st round pick next year on a solid DE.

The Williams wall isn't supposed to get sacks...DTs are there to stop the run and keep blockers off LBs, not get sacks.

Babineaux is a good DT, MAYBE the best in the division for now, but that ain't saying a whole lot. And this TFL stat that's been brought up about him a couple times now, Derek Landri, DT, YOUR Carolina Panthers led the league in that this past year.

Abraham has never been the best DE in the division. That's been a Panther since the NFC South was created (with the possible exception of '07 when Peppers got moved to the wrong side and decided to pout about it). Last year it was CJ, the 8 before that it was Peppers.

Your facts are a bit off, theyhateme. It was two 1sts, a 2nd, and two 4ths. That is WAY too much for the 2nd best WR that has had problems with drops and wasn't even a need. If they had traded something similar to that and moved up for Robert Quinn, or maybe even Aldon Smith I guess (not as high on him as the 49ers apparently were). The Falcons would have been better to Draft Quinn and sign Mike Sims Walker or Sidney Rice than drafting Julio Jones and signing Ray Edwards...and the first option would have been cheaper in both $$$ and draft picks.

Essential you gave up a 2nd and 2 4th to move up in the round. That's not bad.... Your 2 4ths you probably didn;t need anyway, and Jones is worth giving up the 2nd so... good aggresive trade to fill a need.

With Babs and Williams... Go watch the tape... You dont have to take my opinion or anyone else... But if you want to go by last year stats

Kevin Williams who had a down year - 39 takles, 1 sack, 1 FF

Jonathan Babineaux - 27 takles, 4 sack, 2 FF

Its more then about sacks... 2 times out of the last 3 seasons Babs has led DT's in tackles for loss.

In all fairness, they were helped greatly by our clock-control offense.

Yea, I was gonna say, those PPG and rushing yards defense stats are a result of a good clock controlling offense. I was exaggerating a little with the "respectable" part but just watching the Falcons, it's not a good defense. Only only players on the defense that are worth a poo are Abraham (aka Methuselah) and Babineaux, who's only ok. Dunta Robinson is overpaid and overrated, we'll see about that new LB you guys took in the 1st last year. Hasn't shown anything yet.
