Saw Goodell talking at Panthers camp on NFL Network

JR was chilling in his golf cart and I noticed he's looking a lot heavier than he used to be. I would think a guy not long removed from having a heart replacement would try to keep himself at a better state of fitness. Kinda disappointing, IMO. I hope he's not taking the new ticker for granted. :-\

JR has gained weight, but I don't think it's an unhealthy amount of weight... good to see him thriving.

What was the point of this thread again?

Just an observation. Don't interpret this as smack talk or anything like that.

I was just observing that he has put on quite a bit of weight since prior to his heart transplant. I wouldn't at all consider it a "healthy" amount of weight for a man coming off a heart transplant and I'd wager any heart surgeon would say the same thing.

Indeed that is what I said. It was on NFL Network. In the background behind Goodell was JR sitting in his golf cart looking the heaviest I've ever seen him.

This is what happens when you drink McDonald's tea instead of Bojangles sweet tea.

wouldn't doubt it at all if there's a drug he's taking that causes weight gain..

Also, he could be having some minor problems. Some could be fluid retention with this heat. I'm impressed he was out there today. I only go out at night or l look like a blow fish.

I doubt very seriously he takes his new heart for granted. I don't know why anyone would even think he does.

Hey, I don't know JR from Adam. I've known people to have monumental surgeries on par with JR's and take it for granted afterward. I'm not judging JR, just saw the video and brought it up.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
