Over-reaction Saturday

I am trying to be level headed about the preseason games, and keep a little perspective. If I see noticeable improvements in the offensive performance, I will be encouraged. If the defense shows it can shut down the run and protect against the pass halfway decently, then I chalk that up as a win. I'm not looking at preseason games the way a fortune teller does tea leaves, as an indicator of postseason probabilities. I just want to gauge how well the game plan seems to be coming together, and who seems to have the fire and skills to make the team.

Actually our defense was solid last season. Problem was that they had to stay of the field for 75% of the game.

If a decent offense had emerged last season, you would have seen a very good D.

I agree that our d was solid for most of last year. But he was right. Our sack total in preseason was misleading. We didn't start putting much pressure on the opposing qb's until CJ got hot about 6 or so games into the season.

The one overreaction that really sticks in my mind was when Stewart played in his first pre season game agains the Eagles and he never got out of the backfield. People were freaking out big time, and he was instantly labeled a bust by a lot of fans.
