Jimmy Clausen

The blind homerism for Cam is definitely skewing people"s opinion of Jimmy last night.

JC looked solid. He made plays downthe field and led us into the endzone. The int was a terrible play. But, unlike last year, he shrugged it off and cam back to find the end zone.

Idiots are going to be idiots....and we have a bunch posting on this board.

I was a big Jimmy Clausen fan. He just cant play at this level. I have come to that realization. He still looks lost. Has horrible pocket awareness. Takes him too long to make a decision on what he wants to do by that time, receiver is no longer open. Hes going to get someone injured with some of his passes.

and how horrific Jimmy has been in the past vs. his very average showing on Sat IMO also skews how well Jimmy did in reality.

He made 2 good NFL throws by my count Sat.....with that he still doesn't have a good sense of pressure nor does he react well to it. I don't think he was better than Cam. Not saying Cam was that much better than Jimmy....only by the slightest edge.

Cam didn't get a TD but his 2 throws into the endzone were better/tougher throws than Clausen's one throw into the endzone IMO. Cam had great coverage on one and a WR did do his end of the bargain on the other........Jimmy simply hasn't shown he can make those type throws. He is to slow to react and can't get it out quick enough to strike like that.

they all bagged it in last season, a half blind man could see it.

No they didn't. Moore sucked. Clausen epically sucked.

D played hard....and were decent.

RBs played hard and were decent.

Poor QB play made life on them and the WRs too hard. Gettis and LaFell did well for rookies on a conservative running team.....did really well IMO when Clausen wasn't playing (mainly Gettis).

Fox was going to play Foxball whether JR gave him the bodies to do it or not. Jerry didn't. Team played hard and didn't quit on Fox. Fox not wanting much to do with the pieces that didn't fit what he did....doesn't mean they "bagged" it.

I think when DWill is placed on IR over a minor injury and Gross is saying Otah should have played at some point last year, reports of Armanti and Clausen were in Fox's doghouse from the get-go..

it's obvious last year was a joke..

Neither Clausen nor Armanti were pieces to play Foxball with.....they were both drafted for another coach to use. Fox basically said, ok.....

QB play was a joke. If Fox was allowed to of gotten a QB as a backup plan for Moore....he would have been in the mix for a .500 season w/ the talent he had on his roster. Horrible QB play killed the team.....b/c everyone knew Fox was going to play Foxball. Jerry put the bad marriage together and was willing to ride it out.

No one quit on Fox and that was very clear. His team still played hard for him until the end.....only ones claiming Fox wasn't coaching them are the glaring draft choices that Jerry drafted for another coach to use.

    • I wouldn't trade Svech for the best FA on the market, Marner included. Matter of fact, someone would be giving up a top line scorer and a couple draft picks for Svech.  Look at it this way, if Svech was a UFA in a couple days, what does his contract look like? That'll tell you everything you need to know.
    • I know it a real homer take but Im not sure Id slam dunk take that list over Smitty.  Smith just played a different way, he had an ability to just take over a game as a matter of will.  The catch against the giants where he caught it and took a helmet that broke his arm mid air, the games against DeAngelo Hall, 05 Bears playoffs, Ice Up Son, the revenge game against us. Those other WRs may have better stat books but love him or hate him, good guy or bad, Smith just played a different game and when he did look out.
    • Absolutely would have to be anther young scorer with either ELC time or a long term contract...    Could see maybe Kyrou or Robertson.... But I really just dont see him being traded you dont trade your leading post season scorer on a long term deal when he isn't even in his prime yet..   not to mention unless you get more than one of those guys at best it would be lateral with unknown team chemistry.
