NFLN made interesting point on Cam

I'd like to add to this thread that NFLN is now available on charter cable. As of three days ago, they've added it to the sports package. That was a pleasant surprise when I noticed it on my guide last night.

Was watching last night and they made an interesting comment in regards to Cam Newton. In addition to the belief he should be the week 1 starter they gave this reasoning....

The NFL today is about spreading teams out....and if Carolina is willing to use 4 WR sets (could include Olsen) then it would be near impossible for a defense to defend Carolina without huge mismatches on the field. Most teams would look to defend those looks by going to nickel and dime w/ added DBs on the field........but if you do that then there is no way they can handle Cam taking off simply b/c they aren't going to win the battle.

Thoughts?

No. You can spread the field like most teams are doing due to the rules (Indy, GB, NE, NO, etc...).......Cam just creates a mismatch unlike any other QB including Vick. Doesn't mean you run Cam every down the opponent is in dime coverage....but you selective take advantage of the DBs on the field.

Seems like a little simple of an explanation but yeah I do like Cam down field against little d-backs considering he's already carrying defensive linemen on his back. Not to mention what that could mean for our running game.
