Rewind back to April

with the exception of newton, it was just a weak year for QBs all across the board. the FA class was horrible, though. saying he was the best is still having the bar low.

if we are in the market for a top tier QB (which i doubt we will be) i'll be pimping someone else as well.

we'll probably be due for a backup upgrade, but beyond that i think we are set for a while. until he proves otherwise, i'm going to believe that.

I doubt we will be in the market for a QB next year either, thus I prefaced it with if...should have put it in bold. Mainly I was trying to illustrate where I thought Kolb was the FA QB we should've gone after if that was the route taken (free agency vs. draft) more so than I'm a Kolb fan/hugger.

so let me get this straight, somebody thinks it's a great idea to trade away a likely top 10 pick & give 63 million dollars to a QB with less than 10 starts? Kolb is above average at best & still hasn't proved that he can be" the guy" for any team.

We just threw 22 million at a rookie that hasn't taken a regular season snap. Thank God for the rookie cap or a misfire would cost us dearly...*if* Cam is a misfire.

my point is that all these moves are calculated risk one way or the other. remember arz. gave away a pro bowl caliber player & a top 50 pick(most likely)for kolb. i would rather take the risk on a player we can groom & mold than spend over 60 million dollars on a maybe

Yeah because the speedy one Carolina drafted has worked out well so far...

Mallett makes bad decisions under pressure, he hasn't gone up against a starting defense, but when he does, it's gonna get nasty.

hardly any pressure and he just throws it.

Yeah, that probably wasn't a miscomunnication or anything.

He got scared of all the pressure around him and just threw it into the air :willy_nilly:

Post some videos of Cam bouncing passes.

I want to see your judgment on Cam when him and the receiver aren't on the same page for a play

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
