Had a photo shoot with a couple nurses today...

My wife recently got a job at a different hospital that didn't have the best rep, but we're desperate and the pay and hours were good, however she's not in a care giver role.

The other night she texts me that they're having issues because they notified the wrong family about a fatal car crash...You can only imagine the chaos that created for not one, but two families.

When she was in orientation she said it seems as they were almost bragging about how pathetic they were. They had recently operated on a teenage boy's wrong knee, killed a baby and a twenty something female by sheer stupidity.

It just astonishes me how a facility such as this is not only allowed to stay open, but serve as an entire County's medical option.

Back when I was a stock boy for a grocery store. (1973-1975) I was stocking Fanta. (Fanta Soft drinks arrived as general merchandise and not by a soda distributor like Coke or Pepsi.)

Because we had extra room and not wanting to leave gaps, I spread the Pepsi out. This guy comes up to me and asks what I was doing. So I explained why we have more Pepsi product than Fanta.

Anyway, he introduced himself as the Head of Pepsico regional marketing. (He gave me his card, and it said Pepsico.) He told me he appreciated the extra exposure I was giving Pepsi. (All I was trying to do was fill a hole.)

I don't know if this is true or not. I asked him why soda bottles (glass bottles) had that dimple on the side at the bottom. He told me that it was because women use the bottles to pleasure themselves and sometimes a vacuum get's built up and it's an easy way for a doctor to just break that out and relieve the vacuum and remove the bottle. (He might have been BS'ing me.)

Well the place I'm talking about is Rowan Regional. When I used to work for Rowan EMS we would honestly talk people out of going there opting for NEMC instead. Even if it was minor and they were a block away we avoided that place as often as possible.

Don't even ask about the frigging VA.

Are you talking about the VA in Salisbury?

Sue Myrick wanted to get an outpatient VA center here in Charlotte. I don't think she was able to get that done.

I hear the Salisbury place is scarey!

Yep, the one in Salisbury.

All VA's are bad from what I've heard, which is a genuine shame.

I dated, well the term dated didn't realy apply to what we did, that worked there. She even hated it! She felt really sorry for the Vets that were there. She said it wasn't even a second rate facility! (And she worked there!) A former co-worker of mine had to go there to get his meds once a month. He hated to do just that.

It's a shame the way we treat Vets in our country.

I used to live behind the Methodist home on Shamrock. Now I think it's called Liberty or that's the company that run its. It's a retirement/nursing home. Helicopters would circle over head at least once a month! You knew they lost another patient! They woudl just walk out the door and get lost. One woman was in a cabinet and they didn't find her for 3 days! (She was dead!) How she got into a supply cabinet, no one knows, or they aren't saying.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get this far odd topic!

Back to hawt nurses!

    • Incorrect, I have watched us consistently over quite a number of years. When I say Cam relied on athleticism, I simply mean his dual threat style and athleticism overshadowed the deficiencies in the passing game (his own or those created by the system).  Now I wouldn’t disagree that our OCs over that time were not amazing and arguably held him back, but correct me if I’m wrong, Cam had a habit of locking onto his receivers and overthrowing them. Gettleman even drafted two big receivers - Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess - to give Cam receivers with a big catch radius.  Again, correct me if I’m wrong, but Cam had some mechanical issues. For example, the reliance on arm strength over touch and his footwork often led to him throwing off the back foot. There were many debates on these boards about his mechanics, with far more knowledgeable posters than I braking down what he needed to improve on. End of the day, I was as big a Cam fan as the next person, but he did have his shortcomings as a passer. Had he played under someone like Sean McVay or a similar offensive guru, with a high quality QB coach, then I’m sure they would have ironed out the kinks and he would have been far more dangerous and successful than he was. And that’s a scary thought of what he could have been under the likes of a McVay!
    • It's true that we are not scoring at a much higher clip than the Saints. They're averaging ~18.4 with Shough and in that same span we're averaging ~19, so pretty close, despite Bryce having better TD numbers over that period. Both our teams are a far, far cry from the NFL average of 23.3...
