What are other boards saying about Cam ???

So did these same Cardinal fans report that Kolb really didn't do anything since king was open by 40 yards and the pass to Doucet was another blown coverage as well. If you take those 2 passes away that was almost 150 yards of Kolb's total.

Somehow I doubt they mentioned that.

Thought the exact same thing. Cam played awesome against the opponent he was given.

Listening to the Fan and I'm disappointed in some fans of this team. SMH, hating on all the publicity that Cam is getting and not liking him at all for no reason at all. Wow....

When I hear people like that, I can't help but think it's the racist white folk that continue to bash him.

Yea, I'm listening to the stream and it's pretty pathetic. It's pretty obvious why these folks do not like him and Jim even posed the question "Is there something deeper that makes these people hate Cam?". Pretty obvious answer.

We all know exactly what it is. I might have to call out some haters if I see any at the game Sunday. Simple question for them: "Why do you hate Cam?"

Between talking smack to cheese heads and questioning Cam haters, I'm gonna be busy.

Yes, because anybody that doesn't like Cam is certainly a racist or a hater. They have to be old white people too, because that isn't remotely ironic.

People still calling him Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire still though, fug those guys ):<

People that say "Something rubs me the wrong way about Cam" and "Cam is not a true Panther" (heard both of these on the radio) are hating him for reasons other than football. I'm willing to bet the people who said this aren't young black people or young white people.

As far fetched as you make it sound and as complex and misunderstood as you want to portray some of these people, its really isnt that deep. Its very simple, its very transparent, and its very stupid. Stop making excuses for ignorance, there's nothing smart or progressive in doing that. Giving our weaklinks a shield makes us even weaker.

I read a lot of boards and I'm not complaining. There will always be some idiots but in general the response has been very positive. Wilbon and Kornheiser are sort of the guys I look at as being the most reasonable of the general media. They both were very encouraged with not only his play but his approach and demeanor. Kornheiser went as far as to say he was a top 3 can't miss player this weekend. Wilbon said he wanted to drive the Cam hype train.

I read on a community site, and i'll post some reactions!

First game of the season as a starter and Newton is already making an impacted and breaking records.

Newton Passed P MAnning in passing yards in one game as a Rookie

Dat boy goin in raw the whole time

yes indeed. Shutting alot of motherfu*kers up to. including myself

he is doing the damn thing. Respect to him.

i hope he busts in my face(no homo)

didnt expect him to do what hes done.. i like wear he actually went thru a progression and made a correct pass.. he still has a long way to go lets see if he can adjust to when teams adjust to him..

hes playing Arizona

He's looking good regardless of who he is playing. This is the NFL..

Cam got me eating sh*t right now. I'm not saying he's great but I didnt expect him to be making plays through the air. He's giving his team a chance to win regardless of who he is playing. He's playing without fear of failure but at the same time he's being as smart as he can with his throws. So for game 1 I eat sh*t for all the sh*t I said about him......but its only one game. Still did a better job than Captain Check down did today........(this is coming from a Falcons fan)

Alot of people had positive thing's to say about his performance.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
