Why I hate this matchup w/ Chicago

Too bad that the Bears don't have a single WR that could even make the GB or Arizona squads.

the two games you are referring to were against teams with outstanding WR's....fitz, jennings, nelson, etc....

the MM offense will only work with a stacked WR corp...something th eBears don't even come close to.

too bad we let Jeff King go for 70 yards and Blaine Gabbert throw to wideopen guys on hail marys........

So it ain't like Carolina just couldn't cover elite guys....they just have huge breakdowns on pass D. Talent thus far seems to irrelevent in regards to what Carolina is allowing to occur.

The issue with the Carolina Pass D is eliminating the few mental errors that have led to HUGE plays.

I still believe the overall pass D has been solid....just can't have those 1-2 bone-head busted coverages this Sunday.

Cutler is hot and cold....he definitely has the ability and arm to hurt you.

oh I agree.....I think it is a mental error issue not getting outplayed really. The D has been solid every week....except for 2-3 plays a game.

The thing about this game that concerns me most is Chicago's running game. We haven't stopped a run game yet, and we are giving up yardage in huge chunks. We need to force Cutler to beat us, but I am not convinced that we can. Fortunately, Chicago's run game has been atrocious this year, so lets hope we can keep that streak going.

The thing I like about this game is that our run game showed signs of life last week, at least when Stewart was in, so hopefully it will continue to improve.

I think we have the ability. We held MJD to something like 14 yards in the first half until the two stupid plays at the end of the half in the rain.

And while I am not sure of MJD's exact yards, I am sure that we held Jax to 50 yards of total offense in the first half until the last two plays.

Yes, I understand the argument about picking and choosing which stats to focus on, but the point is we have shown the ability to shut a team down for long periods.
