it's a useful ego stroker or marketing tool. beyond that it serves no real purpose.

the best marketing newton can do is to perform at a high level. i think the management team he has has is working on the scarcity principle.

they are limiting himself to only one or two new endorsement deals a year and even with that you won't see the flood that you will with others.

plus, he's not someone that will have to go out and seek attention the way others do. he's not the attention ***** that chad johnson is nor is he someone that people are ignoring like chad johnson is. he simply just doesn't need it. it can only diminish his marketing value and work as a distraction. it is an opportunity more to say things he'll have to retract or explain than anything. most people in the NFL on twitter are people that very few people outside of NFL enthusiasts will ever know or hear about. really no one cares who they are or what they have to say. newton is someone that everyone is going to know and that everyone will nitpick what he says.

it's just not worth it for him. it offers little value.
