Brandon Hogan Update

Agree with taking a knee in the endzone atleast we would finally have some consistency of ST. I don't think Hogan or any one person would help ST, it looks to be a ST Coaching issue. I say go after a ST coach in the offseason and go from there. For God's sake would someone slap AE everytime he tries to dance out there, did anyone see his DWTS audition Sunday it was epic fail....

Agreed. Even when there is a decent return with no fumble, there is usually some stupid penalty which puts us back inside our own 10 anyway. It's not even worth it unless you have a special return man like Hester or Smitty when he was younger.

Yep. My theory is that new NFL with the different KO rules we know is already limiting return opportunities. When you look at guys around the league, some are only getting to touch the football on kick returns. We don't see what they see on the field ahead of them, and for Pilares it probably looks pretty shitty what he's running towards, but these guys are likely desperate to break one open because it's their opportunity to shine and perhaps solidify their roster spot. It's job security.

If they are standing there fielding touchbacks or watching the ball sail over their head into the stands, how much value do they really think they are adding to the team? That's why some of these guys are bringing kicks out from nine yards deep. Just hoping it's their moment.

On the topic of KO returns, given that Goodson has put it on the ground before, and Pilares almost lost one Sunday, my thought is this:

Just take a knee everytime unless the kick doesn't reach the endzone. With our offense this season, I have no problem starting at the 20 every single time. With our kick unit, it's not worth the risk.

How about just watching it go through the end zone? I believe we have the unique capability to get penalized in the process of taking a knee.

@josephperson Joe Person

Ron Rivera says Brandon Hogan (PUP list) worked with first-team D and returned kicks today. Still not sure whether they'll activate him.

What kind of schedule are they running this week? Wednesday is normally the first day of practice, plus, with the bye, some guys have tweeted about getting away for a few days. CJ says he's headed to Miami, and some others mentioned going to LA.

So who is Brandon Hogan practicing with?

not sure but, I thought I heard somewhere that the new cba stipulated a

number of days off during the bye week

for a return man, i just hope travis benjamin WR of Miami falls into a late round. decent WR with great speed and best of all. a natural devin hester type of return man.

this. i want to draft Travis Benjamin in the later rounds and i bet he will take Armanti spot as PR and WR. but after the combine when he runs a 4.2 he will shoot up the boards.
