The Collective Huddle Compass (Thoughts?)

So, 'What would you do' should be the other title to this thread.

Ok, i have PSL's, lower level endzone I've been going to games regularly for some 6 years now, heck, can't remember missing one in all that time? And I'm The Huddle's biggest lurker.

Picture this, 3rd quarter starts, Panthers on their own 20 starting an offensive drive. Everyone in my section is sat down, looking around most of the stadium is sat down all is relatively quiet. Except the one guy 2 rows in front who is the ONLY one standing, hands in pockets, unobstructed view and I politely ask him to sit down. He does, but I guess a minute later he gets a moment of pure red mist and starts belligerently running his mouth at me. I'm kinda surprised? but tell him to shut the hell up and watch the game.

it continues on and off the whole game :banghead:

After the game him and his friend are still at it all the way out of the stadium and even threaten to kick my collective arse!? Of course I endured the short jokes (5'8') while big mouth is clearly 6'1-ish, 200lbs+/- and the same with his friend.

Now I'm not afraid of confrontation, never have been, 10 years spent in the British Army (paratrooper) 7 years as a police officer. But I try and avoid massive confrontation nowadays....the body isn't as young as it used to be!

Questions to be answered:

1, Should I even have asked this guy to sit down in the first place? (Bear in mind I'll stand every time and make noise with the rest of the section on defensive plays)

2, If the bad mouthing starts up next home game, what would you do? (I have every reason to believe this'll happen given the meatheads in question)

a, call security

b, jaw back

c, do nothing

d, other?

Thoughts?

1) yes

2) wont happen. based on his actions he's poor and this is the only game he'll be at.

Point 1, thanks.

As for point 2, one meathead (quieter of the two) is there every game, the big mouth meathead I don't remember seeing? but not beyond the possibilities he'll turn up next home game...

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
