So you are not a Carolina Panther fan then? I mean how can any Panther fan be a fan of Fox? Yeah, he got us to the Superbowl...so what? he was two games over .500 here! I wish him the all the best, but a fan of Fox?

I am a Panthers fan since day one. I'm not a blind squirrel eating Richardson's nuts.

Fox changed the entire Broncos team in mid stream this season.

Fox was never the problem in Carolina. Richardson is the biggest problem because he hires people like Hurney. Hurney's selections and moves completely undermined Fox many times. Don't forget the we changed offenses from a conservative Henning style offense to a Weis style Davidson offense. That offense was never a good fit here. Fox has always been a conservative and ball control coach. Delhomme was not a Weis style QB. In many ways Fox was completely screwed by Hurney and Richardson's decisions.

Agree and disagree

Fact is Fox time ran out here in Carolina period

The local media has been going ape for the past few months and the population is just feeding off of the hype. Like most fans in this position, they feel like they have a chip on their shoulder against all opposition, so when somebody like Smith makes a fairly level-headed comment like that, they get hostile. The Broncos have been far away from relevancy for a while now and they don't know how to handle their emotions.

Give them some time in the limelight and let them get spanked in the playoffs by a defensive team that won't go full-retard in the fourth quarter. Then maybe the Bronco faithful will realize that The Golden Calf of Bristol truly is not an ideal QB for modern football.

brian dawkins is old so that means he just sucks

Fox is like professor x and animating his body to play 10 years younger on the field with his mind so that he doesn't fug up in coverage

I don't like Godfrey but Dawkins is old and at the end of his career. I think Godfrey as of 12/16/2011 is better than Dawkins is, but Godfrey will never be the player Dawkins was.

The Golden Calf of Bristol has 2 NCAA Championships.

Newton has 1 NCAA Championships.

WRONG! if The Golden Calf of Bristol has TWO National titles than so does Newton, but in my book, both have one as starters and one as backups. The Golden Calf of Bristol was Leak's backup in the Florida-Ohio State game.

Offensively we kill the Broncos

WR Eric Decker Steve Smith

LT Ryan Clady Jordan Gross

LG Zane Beadles Travelle Wharton

C J.D. Walton Ryan Kalil

RG Chris Kuper Geoff Hangartner

RT Orlando Franklin Byron Bell

TE Daniel Fells Jeremy Shockey

WR Eddie Royal Brandon LaFell

QB The Golden Calf of Bristol Cam Newton

FB Spencer Larsen Greg Olson (we play 2 TE starting set)

RB Willis McGahee DeAngelo Williams

on offense Smith is better true, i think Clady is better (only a tad better though) than Gross, true on Wharton and Kalil, Kuper is better than Hangartner and Franklin is a tad better than Bell. at TE the panthers beat them. i think Eddie Royal is a tad better than LaFell when healthy, then they have a decent 3rd WR, the problem is they dont have a go to WR. at QB, Newton is better, we dont really use the FB often, to Larsen is a tad better and we have better backs. we are better on offense than them true.

LDE Robert Ayers Greg Hardy

NT Brodrick Bunkley Frank Kearse

DT Marcus Thomas Andre Neblett

RDE Elvis Dumervil Charles Johnson

SLB Von Miller James Anderson

MLB Joe Mays Dan Connor

WLB D.J. Williams Jordan Senn

LCB Champ Bailey LCB Chris Gamble

RCB Andre Goodman Captain Munnerlyn

SS Brian Dawkins (old) Charles Godfrey

FS Quinton Carter Sherrod Martin

ok, defense time. Ayers is the starter, but him and Von Miller split time there, so it depends, but when Miller is at DE, he's over Hardy. at NT, it's clear to me that Bunkley is better. same with Marcus Thomas. at the other end spot, Dumerville has more speed, but Johnson has more power, it's tough, but i say Johnson. Miller is better than Anderson, but only a tad bit. Conner is a better middle linebacker than what they have, then they have DJ Williams who's great and good backups too. at cornerback they have us again. Champ Bailey is still great and Goodman is better than Munnerlyn due to expereience and has size too, Dawkins is old, but i think he's a TAD bit better than Godfrey, BUT not by much and Martin is comparable with Carter, i give a slight edge to Martin though.

Its like i have been interpreting all year, its just shock value. The Golden Calf of Bristol is the hottest thing in the NFL and the next guy people can use to squash all talk about Cam with. Nothing to even take serious. A couple of weeks ago it was Andy Dalton but you havent heard to much about him lately, I wonder why that is????

The team is better because it is a well coached and disciplined team, not because they have better players. They have better DBs and LBs (only because Beason/Davis are hurt) and a better K. Other than that Carolina has the better players.

and better DTs.

so pretty much a way better defense. hence the wins.

    • Congratulations do they know who the father is?
    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
