I'm Anxious

To some people, anxious=eager.

To others, anxious=nervous.

I feel a little of both. There is legitimate concern that we will take the Bucs lightly. Hopefully, RR doesn't let that happen. On the other hand, it would be a nice opportunity to build on our confidence going into next year.

All I know is we should enjoy these last two weeks as it is going to be a long offseason.

I still look forward to games every week, but they just don't make me anxious anymore. They used to, but with all the losing lately it just isn't the same. Especially last season. I'm still recovering from the Clausen Era suckitude that became commonplace in this organization. Cam certainly makes the games worth watching, so there has been a vast improvement.

I feel like if this team could have held on to the lead in that Saints game, we might be in the playoff hunt right now. That was the make or break game of this season. Cam and the offense had NO right where they wanted them. THe failed 3rd and 2 will haunt my memories of this season. THat game was a low point in terms of Rivera's coaching as well.

If we finish 6-10 or even 7 and 9 that will be better than I thought we would do, so this season gives me a reason to think that next year I will be getting anxious with exitement for each and every game.

A strong finish would give me a whole offseason to look forward to the onslaught the Panthers will bring in 2012!

    • Doubling tripling and quadrupling down on this subject in defense of the pick is reminiscent of a certain mindset that has overtaken the political world. This conversation will become less contentious and dragged out to the point of becoming a dead beaten horse if rational minds can simply agree that we made a mistake missed on a potential franchise center and we will learn from it. All this coping is unnecessary.
    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle. Also, “flashed his talent” isn’t 9 carries for 22 yards. His one reception for 18 yards isn’t a flash with 11 other touches for 27 yards. He hasn’t proven anything. We have no idea if he’ll contribute in 2026.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
