OT: NFL Sunday Ticket Question

Recommended Posts

Next year I'm getting a ticket so I can watch the Panthers in my home and avoid internet feeds and sports bars for all 16 games (with my luck we'll get like 6 primetime games and it won't be worth buying).

My question is--what is the total cost on getting Sunday ticket for those of you who ended up getting Direct TV? I mean after installation, etc. what am I looking at in terms of total cost?

I would be starting from scratch, have just basic cable now. It always says like $99 per month or some deal amount for NFL Sunday Ticket..... but I've heard is astronomically expensive. Just trying to get an idea so I can price it out.

I don't know if the deal is still going on, but probably not. A few months ago DirecTV had a deal going on that if you signed up for service with them NFL Sunday Ticket was free. My neighbor got it free when he signed up. Doubt it's still going on for the 2012 season but maybe worth asking.

You can also haggle with them after their promotion is over. We've had directtv for 3 years now with the sunday ticket each of those years. We are getting choice extra package with sunday ticket for the price of choice package with sunday ticket.

i got directtv new this year (switched from time-warner cable) and it came with NFL sunday ticket and 2-room HD DVR for around 60 bucks a month, installation and equipment were free :) overall experience has been a small headache tho, each monthly statement has had some higher bill/random fee then you get rebate later kinda crap... the wife deals with them tho so im happy

I've had DTV for about 4 years now, and every year I call to cancel my Sunday Ticket and they reduce it to six payments of $33. Comes out to a little over $12/game. I can live with that, considering I used to go get tanked at the bar at 10am and it'd cost me easy $50 per Sunday. I'm pretty sure if you wait until football season is close next year they will give you the first year of ST for free too. My DTV bill is usually around $100 a month with all the regular and sports stuff plus HBO.

    • Miller didn't get the player or the puck ... Liability on the ice.  Teams are starting to pursue him behind the net and aggressively chase him down.  Slow and awkward ... Something needs to be done if this continues to the playoffs.
    • That said, I was silently hoping the Canes would go after him in free agency a couple years ago. I still think several guys on the Islander roster would fit well in Raleigh.
    • I was initially a fan of going after Giannis.  But looking at this draft class and some others that could be available via trade - I think I’m leaning towards staying the course. The OKC model is land on your draft picks, develop your stars and depth, and stockpile future picks. Especially as a smaller market, we can’t afford paying everyone like superstars.  Coby will need to get paid this offseason.  Miler will need a new contract soon, as well as Moose and Miles.  And then you gotta pay Kon at some point and the other rookies. Our depth right now really sets apart - especially when injuries inevitably happen. If we can get someone like Yaxel or Koa Peat (both playing tonight) and another big, we should be set for a long time.
