Wife and I are taking our Concealed Carry class this weekend...

You can take the class anywhere, with any certified instructor... A lot probably depends on where you take it.

Even if I live and file in Wake County?

I shoot at the Wake county public range in Holly Springs, classes are there.

Maybe I can get an abbreviated class at PDHSC?

Edit: PDHSC same thing, 12 hour class, 8 on Saturday and 4 more on Sunday.

I'd almost shoot somebody to get a shorter class

Yeah you can take the class anywhere in the state... You just have to file in your county of residence (ie. turn in your completed class certificate, get fingerprinted, pay some more money in addition to class fees you've already paid)...

My grandpa took the class with us Saturday in Johnston County, and he lives in Wake County...

Where is this class you speak of?

I really hate having to go through all the shenanigans like "This is a cartridge and this is the bullet, the bullet is the part that comes out when you shoot"

Had to sit through a 4 hour class like that just to get a card for the Wake county range, most people in the class had never fired a weapon before....

I shot IPSC for 3 years and those classes make my brain flatline.

Well, we knew someone who was personal friends with the instructor, so he held the class at a place he wouldn't normally hold it (I don't think, but they might). There were like 15 of us there, 3 of them women who had never shot before.

I do have the instructor's business card, and can shoot you his info (no pun intended) when I get home this evening...

You do still have to go over the basics in the class... like parts of a revolver/parts of an auto... concealed law... basic stuff... but at least it is only one day's worth...

I thought so. I agree that all guns are just as dangerous. It is how the person in charge of said guns handles them. The classes can only help...

I was just pointing out that they hadn't shot before to illustrate that there are beginners in classes like this from time to time. At least they are trying to show SOME responsibility...
