CB Sheldon Brown

LOL... doubt it'll happen as they already unloaded Lito Sheppard this off-season. I don't see them losing two starting corners and relying on the overpaid Juslio Hanson. Its possible but highly unlikely. I like how Sheldon didn't mind riding the bench, but once he's put into the spotlight as a solid lock to start.. he wants out...

Must be because of Lito and Dawkins leaving or him just wanting a bigger paycheck.

ESPN reports that Eagles CB Sheldon Brown has requested a trade.

The report wasn't attributed to a specific writer, but we suspect it comes from Michael Smith. Brown expressed displeasure with his contract around this time last year too. The 30-year-old right corner is due just $2M in 2009 salary, but has little leverage because he has a contract through 2012.

Was the original content, he's going to want a pay day if he came to Carolina. Still, highly unlikely but who knows. He can't be too happy making 2kk this year when the nickel back just signed a 5 year 25k contract.

I mean hell, why pay the unestablished guy starter money?

Just Lito and Dawkins left... the secondary is changing and Brown wants a payday.

I still see it hard for Carolina to want Brown as he's 30 and it'd replace one of the 1st round picks they might be able to get for Peppers. Possible, just highly unlikely.

I personally find it less likely that a team will give up 2 firsts for Peppers. But I do know what you mean. We just have secondary issues.

The Eagles issued a statement on CB Sheldon Brown's trade request Monday, calling the demand "unfortunate and counterproductive."

"He has three years remaining on (his) contract and, after taking the signing bonus and his first two years of salary into account, we feel that Sheldon is being paid fairly," the statement reads. The Eagles say they will not consider a trade. Brown is likely stuck in Philly for at least another year.

One less situation for Peppers to get tangled into now.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
