So you would pick the other TE? It was an either or question.

Of the two I would pick Green, but he doesn't open up the playbook. Olsen already runs the routes Green would be running.

Ideally we need an in-line TE as Olsen splits out. That would be Allen or Fleener I guess.

When does Potential override for sure? Not arguing, just wondering, because you make a great point.. but at #9 I want to be for sure... at 40, I think we can still get a top 5 DT or CB if thats where we want to go.. Keep FA in mind.

Also, I understand we have 2 starters coming off of IR, but our G play needs to be better next year, especially if we are protecting our franchise, so OL needs to be a sure thing, and that is what Decastro provides, a sure thing.

Dude you are on this guard thing to hard is he your cousin?

We have like 4-5e player coming back who can all play or slide to guard. We need defense.

Does not look like we are going to utilize that kind of TE in our offense. Panthers were speaking to fast tight end types at Senior Bowl also. Our third string TE would fit the inline guy you are calling for, but he can't get on the field. I think the Panthers are also wanting a scat back type. Fox Ball is dead and gone in Charlotte.

I think when we pick he is the BPA, on the board. I dont care who we pick, and yes, we do need defensive help, but everything starts with Newton, and none of those 4-5 guys are SOLID guys who you plug in and dont have to worry about. He will be HOF material. The CB group is deep, the DT group scares me.... so I think this is the best way to go.. IMHO.

Did you think Evan mathis was solid? 3rd round pick from the panthers in 2005, 2011 all pro team.

Left Guard: Evan Mathis, Philadelphia Eagles

Second Team: Carl Nicks, New Orleans Saints

One of the biggest free agent bargains in recent memory, Mathis had a run blocking grade three times better than that of any other player at his position. About as impressive a guard as you’re likely to see, Mathis rarely makes mistakes and does the little things so well he’s a pleasure to watch. He had to be so good to beat out another fine year from Nicks.

I know who he is... and no, I didnt think he was solid, thats why we let him go, he never played well for us, but had a great year in Philly last year, good for him, whats your point? That we can find someone of Decastro's caliber, comparing him to Evan Mathis who took six years to make an all-pro team, saying we can find that in the 3rd round? I can also make the case that the last two years, James Andersons production has been more than Jon Beasons based on tackles.... but who's a more impact player? Beason. 3rd vs. 1st round. There are great players found in every round of the draft.. Decastro is more of a sure thing than anyone else we will be looking at at #9, no question... the argument is to weather or not you actually draft him. My bet is NO, but do I think we should, YES.

A sure thing at a position that you don't need a sure thing.

That's my point your wasting a 1st round pick at a late round position.

I can keep going

Carl nicks 5th round

Jahri evans 6th round.

Just because Decastro is your cousin doesn't mean Schwarts, Brown, Bell, Zemiba, Bernadue, or Williams couldn't be solid starters at guard for us for years to come.
