The original radio version is the only one I know. My dad made me listen to it when I was a kid.

I liked the 2005 version too. I like the original as better, maybe because I saw it first.

The worst thing about the 2005 version was the last ten minutes. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. Everything up to that point, though, was awesome.

Right after it happened, Orson Welles apologized like crazy for the panic his radio show caused.

Later on in his life though, he admitted to finding the whole thing pretty funny.

No one was hurt or killed that I know of. There were stories of people contemplating suicide, but it's unknown whether that actually happened.

My mom was six years old when that happened. My dad was twelve. They both remembered it.

Kudos to them for one element of the ending though. That being to have Gene Barry and Ann Robinson play the kids' grandparents. I love when movie remakes do stuff like that.

name "Clayton Forrester", I don't think of this guy...
