Panthers meeting with DE Chandler Jones tomorrow

Vinny Curry please. His game tape speaks for itself. Yes, he had a poor 40 time, but his 10 yard split was great. Which means he has the acceleration and quickness to get around the edge. 40 times are over-rated when looking at trench players. Curry is being looked at as a 100% DE now.. he won't be taken by a 3-4 team.

Looks like DE wll be an early pick. How isCurry vs the run? My second round and beyond DE depth chart (of course some may be gone):

2. Nick Perry, USC

2. Cam Johnson DE UVA

2. Vinny Curry DE Marshall

2. Chandler Jones Syracuse

4. Tyrone Crawford (my favorite--raw with lomg arms)

4. Malik Jackson

Sorry guys, but I would forget Claiborne. If he falls, yea!! I would love this:

Cleveland wants Tannehill so they trade up with us and give us #22 and #37. We draft Devon Still or Cox at #22. At 37 we draft DE Nick Perry. At 40 we draft CB Chase Minnefield.

Throw in an OLB, OT in the fourth and fifth, Devon Wylie and Russell Wilson, and we are done.

don't like this trade

I think the problem is we HAVE to address a few needs in free agency if we want to be taken seriously in 2012 --I keep trying to do too much in the draft. We need 2 starters to come out of the draft but have needs for 4 starters or more (CB, S, OLB, DT, and possibly DE, OL).

Curry has improved against the run game tremendously in his senior year. Not sure if you watched the senior bowl, but he dominated against the pass and he was shedding Mike Adams the LT from Ohio St against the run like it was nothing. If he had to improve one part of his game, it would probably be against the run, but he is serviceable in that department IMO.. I think he is the best pass rusher in this draft.

Curry's motor is second to none in this draft, and that's what I like, high effort guys. He reminds me of Jared Allen in that regard.

Yes, there are better DEs against the run, but I feel our run game will improve with Beason returning and Ron Edwards, and maybe Thomas Davis. But, our pass rush is what we need to focus on at the DE position.

I think Chandler Jones could be a Justin Tuck type player, but I think Curry could be a Demarcus Ware/Jared Allen type player.
