D.J. Augustin for Jamal Crawford believed to be a possible option

But it's not really depth if he is only here for one year. The problem with this trade is not the talent of Crawford. It just doesn't make sense for us. We are building for the future and any trade involving DJ needs to bring back youth or picks.

Not even the Lakers are thin enough at PG to give up a 1st for Augustin. I'll be shocked if someone does that.

Well they are going to need youth with that aging roster. So that might be just as much a factor. But I don't think there's anything unfair about DJ warranting a late 1st round pick.

That's what it's going to take for the Lakers or anyone else to get him and I'm pretty sure it will get done. The Bobcat's should be down Diaw, Augustin and maggette by the trade deadline picking up 2 first rounders and a couple of scrubs to make money work.

Nah I'm good, at this point DJ is a way better use of a player than Crawford is.

Besides Kemba, who's still working on his shooting stroke and passing, who else do we have? Cory Higgins isn't gonna cut it.

It's not about winning the next few seasons, this team is going to be bad for a few seasons just like Oklahoma was. The goal is to get rid of as many older players as possible, cut cap back as much as possible to open up in 2013 or 2014 FA and as many 1st round draft picks as possible over the next few seasons.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
