The Official Former Charger Free Agents Thread

As we all know, Rivera has a thing for his former Charger players. I think it is not out of the realm of possibility for him to convince Hurney to sign a few backup/mid-tier guys who once were in SD.

I'll start by saying Marcus McNeill was a legitimate top 10 tackle before he caught the injury bug. He's still somewhat young (27 I think?) and even though he missed 7 games last year due to neck injuries he could be a nice, cheap addition to a position where we need depth since Otah is a walking piece of glass and Bell is nothing special. Yes I know, you're probably thinking why add another walking piece of glass to back up a walking piece of glass? Well just like JStew and DWill keep each other's legs fresh, the same would happen with Otah and McNeill.

Also, we all know that Kareem Osgood was released, and this team needs a complete special teams overhall. He could be the second coming of Karl Hankton, only better.

I'm all for becoming the Carolina Chargers as long as the players we sign will work in our system and aren't overpaid bums like Olindo Mare.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
    • This is the Buc's division to lose.  We come out on top only if the wheels come off if Tampa.  I agree we can be--and should be--better than the Saints and likely the Falcons.  A 9-8 season would be nice, but it isn't great.  It's mediocre and that something the Panthers haven't been in nearly a decade, but would be reason to celebrate.  Heck, the Steelers will likely fire Tomlin over a 9-8 season because they are tired of being mediocre.
    • First game was a awful stat line. 2nd DNP due to ankle Summer league doesn't help what hes bring, its dang near YMCA pickup game level.  I heavily question the type of player he is and his future was NOT, not not not what you use #4 pick on. Hornets got him on visit and still made the pick, they better hope he has some Larry legend in him. I maintain huge questions.
