the only reasons they've given for a hornets rebrand is

1. they hate bob johnson

2. they used to have hugo undies

3. a statement made by our enemies in war 400 years ago

Pretty sure all of those are better then what you could come up with to keep the name the same.

Why would racist hicks like Bob Johnson? The richest black man in America is the devil to them. Racist white people can hold a grudge with blacks for decades. Just look at this thread, look at how they come at me, their hate is their culture. It hasnt diminished in 8 years. 8 YEARS!!! But they forgave George for raping that girl a long time ago. Their hate for a rich black man who is an upstanding citizen and internationally respected, supercedes their disgust for white people who hurt other white people. A white felon gets more love in Charlotte.

You are a sad, delusional person. Shinn was a terrible owner but he has nothing to do with the Hornets anymore, and you would be hard pressed to find a sports fan in the Charlotte area that actually likes George Shinn. Bob Johnson was a terrible owner too, he made bad business decisions that pushed some fans away, like not putting them on a local channel where people could actually watch them play.

Jordan's just "another black guy" now since he hasnt changed the name yet. He served his purpose, which was replacing Bob. They giving him that same Bob Johnson "the black owner is a bumbling idiot" treatment now. Screw Jordan, Cho is the savior! Then they go to the Panther forum and blow Hurney and JR as geniuses. Nevermind Panthers been outta the playoffs longer than the Bobs and have been a losing team much longer. LMAO.

Pay attention Cam Newton! This will be you in a year or so if we continue to struggle. It'll be like last year never happened. They will throw you under the bus too homie. There is no loyalty here, unless you're a local white guy.

CCS- the latest is that NBA Deputy Commish Adam Silver was in town last Thursday to meet with Michael Jordan.

Silver was here to discuss with MJ, among other things bringing back the Hornets name to Charlotte. Silver said changing New Orleans name and bringing back the Hornets name to Charlotte could be a "win-win" for both cities.

Silver also said it would not take as long as some are predicting to rebrand Charlotte into the Hornets because the NBA already owned all the rights.

Looks like it's going to happen. The question is when- not if

No, Im telling you, Charlotte is for white people only and should only be repped by such. Blacks have never done nothing for this city. Thats why its such a crime our team could be named after a rich black person who paid for it. The African American Cultural Center should be rebranded into a Hornets Nest Rebellion Museum. MLK Blvd should be rebranded into Bull Connor Blvd. Then it'll truly feel like ours. Teach your kids to hold a grudge with blacks when they make gains in society. Teach them thats their demise and not a benefit to our community. Teach them all the things black people own or create really belongs to them. It is their manifest destiny!

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
