Bobcats Vs Hornets, Who Wins!? Does Anyone Still Cheer Hornets?

Who Dat Pat

Recommended Posts

I'm a UF fan and knew about him when we were recruiting him. Probably would have known about him regardless because I follow CFB recruiting and CFB is my favorite sport to watch. Not sure what point you are trying to make.

The point I'm trying to make is that I am an Auburn fan so it's not like I was going out and looking for the next big thing. I was a fan of the team and when I saw Cam I brought him up conversation back in a college football thread and said it would be nice to see him on the Panthers and the responses I got were unbelievably negative. So I kind of latched on to Cam, so it irks me when I see a guy like kt who only likes a guy because if the color of his skin.

kt doesnt know poo about anything, easily the biggest know nothing know it all I've ever seen.

He knows who LeBron is and a couple of players on the bobcats are, but thats about it. True NBA fan though for sure.

Last thing, Bob Johnson had nothing to do with the invention if you will, of NASCAR Night. The event started in 2007, that's when Jordan was also a small owner of the Bobcats so if you think that Johnson is the reason that NASCAR night started you can forget it. I can almost guarantee you that Jordan had just as much or more influence on the Bobcats as Johnson did.

Cam wasn't even used by you guys. You used him less than you did The Golden Calf of Bristol when you were using the two quarterback system with The Golden Calf of Bristol and Leak. The only time Cam saw the field was in a game that UF was blowing out there opponent (can't remember who it was).

That doesn't mean I didn't like him or saw the potential. I was hoping he'd stay and Brantley transfer. I was also actually looking forward to him coming back to Division I and was cheering for him at Auburn. He's a Gator at heart he just went to a place where he could get some playing time. Not too sure why he came to UF in the first place knowing The Golden Calf of Bristol was taking over the reigns.

I feel ya. I can see how that'd irk you as a fan of his. But I can't comment about KT because I don't know him personally.

Lol@Nascar night starting in 07.

Lol@Jordan doing more for the Bobs

Lol@I only like Cam cuz hes black

Lol@this dude thinkin he introduced the world to Cam

Hornetsfan8789 is a bigot, he fits a lot better in the Hornets fanbase than the Bobcats.

Nascar night did start in 07 you fool and no owner has done any good for the Bobcats the only guy that has brought the Bobcats any sort of success was Larry Brown.

Also, here is your link to NASCAR night starting in 07

http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/official/03/12/nascar.night.charlotte.bobcats/index.html

The second link mention that 2008 was the second NASCAR night

So basically you were wrong, the event was Bobs idea and first took place during his tenure. Bob did give an award to Johnson that night too. The article you posted even refers to it as Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Bob hadnt even sold the naming rights yet. You were also wrong about the Bobs having MLK day games where we honored him at halftime. Another idea of our founder. Next you're gonna credit Brown and Cho with selling the naming rights to TWC. This kind of revisionism and whitewashing is why the Bobs wont change their name.

This doesn't even deserve a response, so you're not going to get one because I have better things to do with my time.

Whoever the pro basketball team in Charlotte is will get my support. Right now it's the Bobcats, so the Bobcats have my support. If they re-brand to the Hornets (which I wouldn't mind if they did at all) then the Hornets will get my support.

The team is not about the name, it's about where the team comes from. I won't cheer for any team except a team in North Carolina.

Also just for the heck of it, Jordan became a minority owner in 2007 before the naming rights were ever sold.

67 points? Seriously?

What a f'n joke....

Honestly, at this point, I'm glad I'm not in the Bobcats TV market so I don't end up watching this garbage on a regular basis...we don't get games in Boone b/c we don't have Time Warner here... What a great way to build fanbase.

Did Bob Johnson literally just think he could put up any f'n NBA team in Charlotte and people would show up?

Did he not know this city/region at all? Goodness...

Well since this is a Hornets forum and this thread was started by a Hornets fan, I think its appropiate this be the Game Thread. I hope TWC Arena is buzzing tonight. Lets show NO we beelieve in them more than they know. Wink wink! Bring back the Hive tonight Charlotte! Cheer hard for our real team! I hope John Morgan and gang are in attendance and start more cheers.

KT is mailing it in worse than the bobcats. I bet it was fun fighting the inevitable.

    • The biggest problem we've had with this team since Rivera left is that we have become progressively more timid. Certainly on offense, but mostly on defense.  Football is not a finesse sport. It isn't gentlemanly. You don't want to kill or injure opposing players, but it is essential that you knock them hard enough to intimidate them or at least make them pensive about every move they make.  We used to be those guys. And we haven't been for a very long time.  So, I hope Dan and Dave can bring us back to this. We need it. And a tough, hard hitting team always gives you a shot, even when you might not have the finesse talent on the field.  Yes, it is a passing league, but scared or addled receivers and QBs change the whole game. We need our grit back. We've been a bunch of neutered Persian cats for too long.
    • A couple of notable insights I gained from this:  - Diontae Johnson seems eager to help Bryce progress in his career - Clowney is happy to be back home - Luke is essentially a FO spokesperson - Dan says he would've liked to have added more talent in the draft, and he seems eager to scour the waver wire for other team's cuts. It's easy to read into his statements that this roster rebuild is nowhere near complete in his eyes.
    • Keeping fit is something that many people overlook until they are out of shape and therefore must work harder to reach their physical goals. However, the work put into keeping your body healthy is worth it in both immediate results and long-term benefits. Here are some tips on fitness that can help keep you happy and healthy for years to come. Set up your weightlifting routine around your fitness goals. If you are trying to create large, bulky muscle you'll want to do more weight, but with longer rest periods between sets and between workouts. If you are trying to develop lean muscles with high endurance, you want to lift less weight, but do it more often and with shorter rest times. If you're a person who likes to walk for your daily dose of exercise, make sure you bend your elbows while you're walking. Doing this will make you swing your arms faster and in turn you'll move your legs faster. Not only will you either finish your work out sooner or go further, but you'll burn even more calories while you're doing it!
