Most Optimal Scenarios For Tonight.

I think is safe to say priority number 1 is trading down and picking up an 2nd or 3rd round pick.

If we manage to trade down id like to go.

CB / DE

1st: Jenkins / Dre / Gilmore

2nd: Jones / Perry / Curry

DT / DE

1st: Worthy / Still

2nd: Jones / Perry / Curry

OLB / DE

1st: McClellin

2nd: Jones / Perry / Curry

DE / DT

1st. Jones / Perry

2nd: Worthy / Still / Thompson

DE / OLB

1st: Jones / Perry

2nd: David / Brown

If we cant find a trade partner I see 4 practical options.

DT / DE

1st: Cox / Brockers

2nd: Jones / Perry / Curry

DE / DT

1st: Coples

2nd: Worthy / Still / Thompson

OLB / DE

1st: Kuechly

2nd: Jones / Perry / Curry

DE / OLB

1st: Coples

2nd: David / Brown

How do these scenarios look? Anything other than one of these and I am gonna be one pissed off individual!

I dont even want to entertain the idea of not going defense with the first 2 picks.

No pass rusher?!?

Fug no! lol

Decastro would make us have 4 linemen that are well above average, the guy is going to be a pro bowler,

Greg Hardy is entering his third year, (the breakout year for most DE's) and he will not be missing all of training camp this year, I am calling 10.5 sacks for him this year.

Also we run a Blitz centered 4-3 defense do you really think we played the way we wanted to last season with 2/3 of our LB core on IR?

Not to mention Zach Brown has the speed and tools to be an effective blitzer if utilized.

I dont like a DE and DT.. I think we target 1 or the other if either, and move on from there. I think CB is a need, and LB is a need. I think we could stand to get a WR and we need a Punter. :) I like Drew Butler, like everyone else. But I like what you had to say too.

I just have no idea how it will go.

    • I'm more curious if he can recover from his injury and still be a starting caliber olineman
    • Does this mean only topics from within the last year or any topics with posts from the last year? i.e. if there are any old threads we feel should be kept around for whatever reasons, would a bump of that thread before the update ensure it's kept around in full or do the posts from more than a year old still disappear?
    • I'm more intrigued at him becoming our future LG. There were some people who thought he was better suited to be a guard in the NFL to begin with.  Then if Freeling ends up being a legit LT, moving Ickey to LG could give us an incredibly strong left side of our OL for years to come. Ickey has only played on the Left side his whole career, both in college and the NFL, so I just wonder if keeping him on the left side, even if shifting inside, would be better than putting him outside on the right side. Just hoping him growing up a Panthers fan will make him want to stay here and move positions than enter FA so he can stay at LT somewhere else, particularly since LT is the big money position on the OL, so he likely can get paid more by someone else to play LT than play LG or RT here for us.
