I frequent another Carolina based forum and one of the members posted this about his nephew who was recently severely injured. This is a long thread but very inspiring. Maybe some of you can even make a small donation to his foundation. I have PMed Zod about using his connections to see if he can get some of the TopCats to visit the kid but I not heard back yet.

Before he was moved to Charlotte from Raleigh, several of the Carolina Hurricane players came to visit him and Thomas Davis came by the other day to see him. (Pics of TD in the thread.)

Aw, that is bad news. Hopefully the little dude gets better.

FYI, it's hard to get Zod to respond to a PM (well at least from me) but I know he would most likely help in any way.

Hit him up on FB or try to get aholt to Hawk, Dimbee, Saltman, Panthro or *shudder* Jase. They are on the secret mod forum and can prolly get aholt to Zod toot-sweet.

Thanks for taking the time to read it. Yes he does seems to be making great progress! Hopefully that will continue and he can get back to how he was before the accident, or at least very close to it.

I can't imagine having to deal with something like this. They are a very strong family.

      I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.

      Will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. The Boston game seemed to open the flood gates of media attention. And it’s not just that they’re playing well, in some instances they are getting compared with all time greats. This is still a young team, and it would be easy for an immature team to lose some focus, buy into their own hype, and think they can coast bit. The Heat are a middle of the road team without their leading scorer. There is no big dragon to slay, no big statement to make. I think we’ll learn a lot tonight: are they young but mature, or do they still have a ways to go mentally?

      Panthers North for the win. Good luck to him. Great guy, hated to see him leave here, but he's about to work with the best QB he's ever worked with (at least on a regular basis).
