Saints***** have offered Brees a contract

I wonder what those 'mechanisms' for lowering his salary cap number are? Aren't the Saints**** right up against the cap with Bree's $15 mil franchise tag figure? How would they sign him at $20 mil a year without cutting fools?

I think they are right up against the cap BEFORE that franchise tag. I actually dont think they have room if he signs the tag.

What happened to neg rep?

Yes, negatively "rep" me so my reputation can similarly reflect the usual topics on this board. Last time I checked, this was a Panthers board, and yet all I read about is Bounty Gate and Drew Brees' contract.

Doesn't like Saints** thread... Clicks on it to reply... Twice...

And I haven't replied in any of the other ones but decided to make a comment two posts in because it's ridiculous, only to see other people would rather talk about me talking about it than the actual topic. Yet I'm the one in the wrong here for thinking I'm on the Carolina Huddle.

Drew Brees is going to play regardless, that's what is so asinine about it. Are you trying to suggest Drew Brees will not be playing this year? Are you honestly assuming that they won't get this deal done? If this were August, I'd be laughing at the situation. It's the beginning of June.

Now, making a topic about how the Falcons were last in using screen passes last season but plan on integrating it deeply into their offense, and that's something worth discussing. I'd much rather discuss the Falcons' tall receivers and the difficulty our corners might have in swarming and tackling WRs on screens once they got into our porous safety secondary.

Reading your posts makes me think I'm on the whinning little biatch huddle. It is the offseason and there is not a lot to talk about.

    • Yeah. As a wild card team. Washington won the division at 10-6.
    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
