Woman scores $2mil in tax fraud, buys a Dodge Caravan for $2,000

An Oregon woman is on the hook for what Internal Revenue Service investigators are calling one of the largest cases of tax fraud in the state's history.

Krystle Marie Reyes, of Salem, Ore. allegedly weaseled more than $2 million from the state by filing a false return using automated TurboTax software, according to a police report obtained by Oregon Live.

When Reyes was taken into custody June 6, she'd managed to spend about $150,000 over a two-month period, including a $2,000 Dodge Caravan and more than $800 in tires and wheels, according to the police report.

Is it just embedded in trashy people's DNA to be attracted to trashy and shitty things?

I like how Visa threw up the flags AFTER she reported it stolen. Throwing up flags for putting $2.4mm on a debit card, nah. It's not like it you got that much back in tax returns, you wouldn't want it put in an actual bank account.

I would hate to see what flags an audit for the state of Oregon.Let's see her income for last year was probably 24K or less (just guessing) and now jumps to 3 million with at least 2.1 paid in taxes. I use Turbo Tax and at the end it shows your chances of an audit. I bet hers was off the damn charts.
