Bobcats in Dwight Howard's Trade Talk.

Recommended Posts

The Rockets have nothing to offer.

List me one good player the Rockets could offer?

If we are going to talk about picks then yes, the Rockets would easily be the best option but the Magic have to add roughly $20 million dollars in salary back from the trade. No one in their right mind would want $20 million dollars of salary from the Rockets.

The Rockets have two draft picks the Magic scouted seriously in Lamb and Jones, not to mention the ability to give 4 firsts and 2 seconds in the next 7 or so years. Dwight also won't be staying with them, so those picks are almost guaranteed to be high...

The Rockets would have to include Kevin Martin in the trade because of his huge contract and at his age the Magic wouldn't want him anyway.

Dragic, Lowry, Budinger, and Lee are all gone or will be gone so there goes the young talent that the Magic would want in return.

So essentially the Magic would get Martin, Scola, two first round picks and trash for Howard.

Those contracts aren't large enough to get Howard.

You're problem is you are basing this on what looks the best, not what fits the best.

I'd rather have Lopez then Ex Kardishian. Then to all this Marshon Brooks poo. He's not better then Hendo. Period.

Brooks just finished his rookie year, so saying that he won't be a 4 year player in Gerald Henderson is a little asinine. Don't you think?

MarShon Brooks would see much more court time here than he would in Brooklyn.

Brooks' and Henderson's per 40 times were very similar.

The rockets have the cap space for Orlando to dump bad salaries on them without having to take big money back, Martin is actually VERY desirable as he's a 13 million dollar expiring K that can be moved at the deadline for even more assets. Also, you can't possibly tell me that a team that just dumped a 16/8 player for nothing's best possible deal includes paying a five year max contract to an 18 ppg 6 rpg center whose coming back from a broken foot....

Would they be a favorite for a title then, no. Would they be a 4-6 seed in the East....absolutely...

And if Howard is traded to the Lakers, then the Lakers become the favorite to win the title THIS YEAR and possibly even next year.

If he is traded to the Nets, they still have to go through the Heat to reach the NBA Finals.

The Magic have to do what is best for their organization without drastically effecting the NBA Championship outlook. When looking at it from this perspective, trading Howard to the Nets is in their best interest.

If the Rockets offer three first round draft picks, then yes by all means trade him to the Rockets. However, if they don't incorporate three first round draft picks then it's not going to happen.

That makes absolutely no sense. How is it in their best interest to create a 5-7 year super team in their own conference as opposed to creating a 2 year super team in the west, or better yet no super team at all and still shipping him to the west getting a poo load of picks for him in return for your rebuild. Nets trade is nowhere near what's best for the Magic organization....
