Observations from Section 541

I got into the game pretty quickly last night. Sat down in the middle of several Giants fans. The first thing they asked me is "Is it always this quiet and empty in here?" I of course told them absolutely. I am originally from the NY area, and have been a die-hard Panther fan since 1995, but the one thing that always pisses me off is the fan base down here. They are AWFUL compared to other teams. Its pretty pathetic actually.

Anyway, the first drive was embarrassing. We have given up an opening drive touchdown the last 4 games dating back to last year. I blame most of the on the coaching. Lack of preparation was atrocious.

After the first drive, you can tell the crowd was already completely out of it. My buddy watching from home texted me that announcers were RIPPING them apart, and it sounded like a Giants home game on TV. This is unacceptable. Also, the Panthers looked like a Little League team....pouting and moping around with their heads down after the first series. WTF?

From then on in just got worse....and 75% of the crowd left in the 3rd qtr, the players were going through the motions, and the coaches made no adjustments at halftime.

In short, it was flat out embarrassing to be sitting there with a Panther jersey on, while the players, coaches, and other personnel seemed content with making their money and go home. Last night was an absolute joke, and these players, coaches, and front office really need to sit back and think about this ass kicking they were handed on national TV.

Maybe they can start fixing the gaping holes in their offense and defense instead of overpaying for "Home grown" players.

Sorry, rambling over. Flame away.

It's a terrible experience at a Panthers game. Fans showing up late the game, PA system sucks, half the stadium is always wearing the other team's colors. Those things may never change, but our team could at least not be embarrassing.

Sadly, this city probably wouldn't have a pro team if people weren't coming down here from the north, but at the same time, it's time people become apart of their city they've lived in for years. Until that happens, IF, it's just not going to be fun.

Agreed 100%. I ask myself why bother paying the money for this kind of crap experience.

just to throw a different spin on things...but...you guys are a small market team...those other team fans coming in and buying tickets at probably inflated prices, hitting the beer stands and food etc are a big part of the financial success of your team...in my humble opinion anyway.

people can blame Panther fans for selling their tickets to other teamers, and sure, that's part of it, but look at the economy etc too...if you have season tickets and don't sell a few games and are struggling to make ends meet, you drop the season tickets! With ticket exchange and craigslist etc, I guarantee there are a poo load of season tickets in most buildings that aren't owned by home team fans.

just thinking outside the box a little

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
