Whole first page of the forum all sports media...he said she said BS. One day before game time and maybe one thread on here about the game...c'mon man.

This is not a rah rah thread, its a get back to football thread

With that being said, I know things dont bode well for us, but its a division game and no matter what level the teams are at...its at least a close game to say the 4th qtr.

So lets see how our young team bounces back.

Do you think we ditch the read option and go back ocnventional in the run game? I dont think it will be eliminated but I hope it goes from 80% down to around 30%. OMG I hope we play some press and man coverage but that wont happen. Also who will step up and grab that turnover that can spark the D like agaisnt the Saints?

It was c-rations when I was in.....20 years later and I am still constipated

Me too. I went in in 1980, right before MREs were introduced. The first field expedient meal I ate was C-rations, include a ham loaf in a can that was date stamped on the bottom, "November 1952." Ate that point, that ham loaf was a full eight years older than I was! But I was pleasantly surprised by most of the stuff I got out of most mess halls. I guess I don't have a very discriminating palate.

Someone brought up a good point. All 3 of Falcons wins have come from teams in the 2nd worst division in the league, the AFC west. They have yet to beat a team with a backfield as good as ours, a WR as good as Smitty and a mobile QB like ours. Falcons are owing off a coast to coast game that was preceded by a Monday night game. We had 10 days rest and getting Bell and Jonathan Stewart back.

Sure on paper the Falcons should blow us out BUT considering all the facts I just listed I think we have a bigger chance than people think. Lets not forget last year when we played the Falcons we had a 21 point lead at half time and if we just had the defense we do now, we would have blown them out.

I hope we're up by 17 going into the 4th qtr. Fug the Falcons and their record. Carolina will come to play and WE have something to prove. I expect a W... Not for it to be " close in the 4th qtr"

Matty Ice will return to his water balloon throwing ways... You just wait and see

I think ATL has bought in their hype, ESPN already crowned them this week as champs after the 49ers lost. ATl is mocking us in interviews, we are at a low.....this all smell like a trap game for ATL. I really think we bounce back. I just hope we dont let them score on the opening drive.

We need this win...we need the damn georgia dome monkey of our back if we want the division.

    • I get it's subjective and I said "PFF rated him as" one of the top deep ball passers during that time, which is an accurate statement.  They are still a group of professionals that look at film and data in order to make their judgements/ratings.  These people whose data has been incorporated into a lot of teams' staffs view Bryce's deep throws as some of the best in the league during that stretch.  That tells me that he can probably throw a deep pass vs the Huddle's version of he is small and didn't do it his rookie year so he must not be able to.  That and literally seeing him do it just makes me feel he is more than capable of doing so.   Do you think PFF is skewing their opinion to prop up a QB in a bottom tier franchise?  It's just another group's opinion and I feel is pretty respected around the league currently.  It's not the gospel truth or anything.
    • I still remember how happy I was that gettlegut was not the GM once he picked Jones, that was a firing pick and well..... If not for the raiders drafting Clelin Ferrell, it was the biggest draft day mistake in the last 20 some years.
    • He had 251 passing yards. 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. All in all a very impressive game. Problem is I do not envision his rushing ability translating like that over the course of the upcoming season. Yeah it will be something to account for from time to time but one it's not sustainable and two you don't want to put his durability to the ultimate test against a motivated defender willing to take a penalty and a fine. And plus with our backfield. Two 1k yard rushers. That's what they're here for. Then we have a much improved WR room. That means Bryce has to elevate those passing numbers substantially. The fact of the matter is regardless of circumstances it did take him 23 games to surpass Kyle Allen's single season passing yardage from 13 games in 2020. And that is not a high bar by any means. Whatever QB tier Bryce ends up in from here amongst his peers this upcoming season when it's all said and done it will be with his arm.
