Rivera Needs To Show More Muscle

You have some coaches that want it done their way or the high way. Every thing is done the way they planned it. Some coaches let other coaches be flexible

5 games in, time to show a little more muscle and control more. I think thats one reason why he just stands there. He let every one else just do their job and not overrule people. To me thats the change once we play Dallas. If something doesn't seem like the right call, overrule that poo

On defense, maybe but how well does Ron really know offense? Then again anyone could call what Chud is. I think Chud will tighten it up though I just hope by then our players haven't given up. I could be wrong though, hard to find any reasons to blame for being 1-4 anymore.

I'd like to see it but I'm not sure it will be against Dallas. I think they will use the bye as their chance to try and get the most out of their current style for better or worse. But overall I just think it's not in his personality to seize control like that or manage in crucial situations. I was watching Saving Private Ryan recently and rivera reminds me of Tom Hanks character when they are storming the beach and an explosion goes off near him and his ears are ringing. Next to him a soldier is yelling "What do we do now?!" and he can't answer until the ringing stops. Ringing never stops for Ron and without that leadership the team doesn't recover when things get bad..

It's been said over and over (probably to the point that noone really wants to hear it again really) that teams will take on the attitude of their coach. I believe that pretty firmly myself.

I also believe that one of the fundamental problems with this team is they're playing like they're in a fog for the most part. The Defense isn't hitting guys like the mean it - the Offense isn't running the (admittedly whack-a-doo) plays that are being called in.

Maybe it's time just to give them something to latch on to. If we're playing with some fire, even with the other coaching / playcalling / talent / management issues we have, we have probably won another game at least just due to that.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
