Wins & Sh1t

Heading into the Cowgirls game, our new regime is 7-14...so let's take a look at our wins:

Saints/Brees - 1

Bucs/Josh Freeman - 2

Texans/TJ Yates - 1

Colts/Curtis Painter - 1 (nailbiter)

Redskins/John Beck - 1

Jaguars/Gabbert - 1

Every win we've had has been against teams in disarray from the coaching or QB side of things. A win against the Cowboys will at least give me confidence we can win a game against a team with a franchise QB in place and a coach not completely in shambles. Yeah, they won't have their RB but Felix Jones is a formidable backup but bottom line: this is the type of game we need to learn how to win and haven't done so yet. I really hope they start proving otherwise.

Not yet having a decisive win against a strong opponent is one of the things that shows how little we have come from day one with this new crop of players and coaches. The Titans, Browns, Colts, and hell even the Dolphins have done this to an extent already this season. We have Cam freaking Newton so let's get it going.

out of those 14 loses 12 have been very winnable down to the wire games. This group will turn it around, same core group gm coaches etc......

I just don't get how beating a 2 and 3 team is going to be our signature win.

And for those saying it's because Dallas is a playoff contender, until they get the wins, they are no more a contender than any other team. That includes the Saints, who we beat.

As sure as the sun rises in the east, so it is EVERY year sportswriters, talking heads etc, all proclaim that dall-ass is a contender.

i think it's more a monkey off our back.

typically get beaten by the cowboys in regular season. actually, for the past few years we just typically get beat...but anyway, it's that. beating someone we don't beat and hoping that it spurs on a successful rest of the season.

not a signature win, but a much needed win...and a moral, rather morale victory at the same time. it should set the tone for the rest of the year...and win or lose it will probably do just that.

    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
