For those criticizing Cam...

Cam said coaching was a problem yesterday and was getting lambasted on ESPN this morning.

Big Ben called out Todd Haley BEFORE their game yesterday, yet I haven't seen it discussed at all on TV or heard it on radio.

Now, CJ comes out today and basically says he was hoping for a coaching change as well and Hurney gets fired... So, Cam is more of a leader than people give him credit for.

It pisses me off for all these wine and cheesers to complain about his demeanor... Not caring is what got us here. Now we get someone who cares with all that he is, and they don't want to see that. Our team is the way it is because too many people are cashing checks but care nothing about the wins and losses. These idiots have no idea how thankful they should be for Cam.

yeah right, CAMERON is a real born leader, face it, he's a big crybaby and he's got oatmeal for brains, wake up

Actually, IMO absolving Cam of blame for this season is lazy and may indeed be a contributing factor to the Panthers woes.

Listen, noone is dumb enough to place the entirety of the disappointment on Cam's shoulders. But as it stands now, Cam now has a 7-15 career record. When you look at other QB's like Luck, RGIII...it seems like those teams are starting to show improvement in tangible ways and they can claim to have fewer weapons at their disposal than Cam.

To be fair, they are going through their rookie honeymoon periods, similar to what Cam went through last year when the Win/Loss record didn't matter so much as the fact that a giant hope arrived.

But if we're calling a spade a spade, Cam has not dealt with adversity very well so far in his career and it's an area that despite his prodigious physical gifts and talent could go a long way in submarining his long term outlook.

No one is absolving Cam.....there is just a comical emphasis on him and little placed on bigger reasons.

He said "I don't know if it's the coordinator" and "I just run the plays that are called." I don't know what else he has to say to be considered "calling out coaches"?

Cam also talked about himself, the offense, defense, and special teams.

So when he does that.....he isn't calling out coaches. He is simply calling out the Panthers which he clearly included himself.

But, when you are :

1. QB of the team

2. The #1 overall pick

3. Had great rookie season

4. Made the "entertainer and icon" statement before you took a snap

you are going to get undue criticism, disecting of your play, and pressure. It is all part of the job and position. It often is not fair, but it IS part of the game.

Cam does need to understand that he is the leader of this team and he does set the tempo, personality, etc.

I love the fact that he hates losing and is willing to call things like he sees them. However, he does need to look in the mirror and understand that his demeanor on the sidelines does need adjusting. Yes, he is only 23 years old (but so is every other 2nd year player). He is immature and he does need to undersand the professional aspect of the game. And that, WILL come with time.

You are 100% correct it goes with the territory. I am sure his sponsors are not happy as well.
