Smitty...checked out?

Smitty mentally checked out in 2010. Doesn't sound like his head is in it.

Also, Smith got open vertically about once a game last year for a big play. He didn't getting open for those big splash plays at the same pace....I am sure a percentage is Smith.

That is part of the sophmore slump Cam is going through. Defenses are taking away those deep throws. Add a spy in the red zone and you minimize 2 of Cams biggest positives from last season.

Smith has a couple of good years left but I am not sure a new GM will want to put up with some of his BS. It would probably be wise to trade him and start fresh. Get Cam a younger stud reciever with less emotional baggage.

The frustration level over this season has hit new lows. Now it is Smitty's turn to incur the wrath of the unhappy.

Trade Smitty. Really?

"I bet he retires" Please

He is losing it, let him go. C'mon man.

It would be humorous, if it weren't so sad.

Fans. You gotta love em.

People aren't doing anything new to Steve Smith....

Smitty is aging

Nah, Smith has a track record....when the going gets tough you can't always count on him to be there

And he isn't a 2nd yr player, so there is no excuse for some of his bull

LOL at this. Simplistic, and overreactionary. But, that is normal for the fans of this team.

The "I am mad, and by Zod, everyone is going to know it" fans kill me.

If he has I want him to walk his ass up to Cam and apologize him for that bullshit rant in front of everyone during the Giants game. I love Smitty to death but I despise his propensity to talk up his maturity act when things are going well and then going back into a shell when things aren't. It's hypocritical, and between him and Cam at least Cam took his chewing out like a man.

Yeah Steve is way worse then Cam. When things are going bad, instead of running his routes he just fights guys at the line. You don't see Cam acting like a baby and wanting to fight everybody because we are losing. I honestly don't care if Smith goes after this year. He is one of my all time favorite panther's and I was hoping he'd go out a winner, but his legs are done, and his personality is not good for the locker room. It never has been.

It is different without 2 pass catching tight ends on the field. Smith is drawing safety help over the top that wasn't there as much last season when he caught all those long balls. Plus Cam caught Defenses off guard early when it was assumed we would run more than pass.

    • If he is BPA, then yes. I am a believer in Dan at this point and hope that he doubles on his strat from last draft.  T-Mac wasnt the biggest need, but at a first round position, over-drafting for need is bad.  We had XL coming back (we didnt know he'd catch rabid Racoon Disease in the offseason and forget how to be even an acceptable WR), Thielen coming back (yes...old AF thielen was a 1k reciever) and Coker coming off a surprising season...if you asked RIGHT AT THIS SAME POINT LAST OFFSEASON if we should draft Defense or T-Mac where we were last year, I guarantee 70-80% would have said "WHY THE fug ARE WE TAKING A RECIEVER!?!?!".  We're getting close, but you build a winning roster by Drafting studs in the first round and depth after, and Studs dont come from "Well we needed a Long Snapper", they come from "I dont care if we don't need a Receiver, That dude is THE DUDE"
    • I honestly don't care about NBA talent. Our last championship team was light on it. The team that went to the title game was light on it. I wanna win college games. I haven't watched a full NBA game in probably 15 years. I barely remember one and doners, whether their ours or elsewhere. It's one of the reasons why my hatred of duke has cooled. Their players don't hang around long enough for me to even know their names.
    • Should hopefully pick up a half-game on the Sixers and Heat tonight. Also possibly the Hawks and Magic. 🐝🐝🐝
