Posting this Mock Draft 2.0 for "Panthersguru14". He has not met requirements to post topic yet on the forum, so I am helping him once again. Lastly, "Bwood" please save the humor.

Perfect offseason 2.0

-Trade Jon Beason for a 3rd

-Trade D Will for a 5th

-Pick up Jairus Byrd in free agency

-So we now have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, two 5ths, 6th and a 7th.

-I think we will be picking 10-15 (all projections are based off of CBS Sports rankings)

1st round Jon Jenkins DT Georgia 6-3 358lbs

We need a replacement for Ron and Jon Jenkins can be that run stuffing gap filler. Also picking Jon could help extend Ron's career.

2nd round DeAndre Hopkins WR Clemson 6-1 200lbs

Hopkins is a great receiver with good hands, route running ability and speed. He simply has been overshadowed by Sammy Watkins, but proved he could be a #1 receiver when Sammy was suspended.

3rd round Carrington Byndom CB Texas 6-0 180 lbs

Solid cornerback from a historically strong football school. Plus I feel as if the current coaching staff is good at coaching corners considering Josh Norman is having a solid year as a rookie.

4th round Xavier Nixon OT Florida 6-5 314lbs Once again from a good school and plays tackle and could push Bell back inside to guard. And hopefully would be good enough to take over for Gross when he retires.

5th round Dominique Easley DT Florida 6-2 280 lbs

He would have time to develop behind Dwon Edwards for a couple of years before he had to play a full time role and we could have a tandem at DT for a long time with Jon Jenkins and Easley.

5th round Joseph Fauria TE UCLA 6-7 255lbs Fauria is a receiving TE and with his height could prove to be a great red zone threat for Cam.

6th round Lerentee McCray OLB Florida 6-2 249lbs

Always can use LB depth especially with the injuries in recent years.

7th round Travis Johnson DE San Jose State 6-3 245

Always can use pass rushers so why not take a fly on one late. Although undersized maybe with some time and bulk he could be a good rotational guy.

I feel with the addition of Byrd then we can pick up enough pieces on defense to be consistent year in and year out. With the possibility of traded or restructuring certain contracts we can afford to pick up at least one key free agent that will be able to come in learn the system and not make those "rookie" mistakes. If you don't like the mock remember I am just projecting the best players based on where we might draft and positions of need.

Like the mock. I'd be koo with Jenkins, Hopkins, and Carrington. Also like the Nixon and Fauria picks. Though I think that Bell has really solidify that RT spot and it's his to lose. Bell IMO will be a player like Wharton, who can play multiple spot for us due to injuries on the line.

I'm just not sure if we can trade Dwill and Beason. And I'd like to keep Beason and play him at OLB if he comes back healthy.

Yea if somehow we starts winning games and put ourself out of a chance to land Star or Hankins, I'd go receiver in a Allen, Hunter, Twill or Woods. And then go DT like a Jesse Williams or Sylvester Williams in the 2nd. Assuming we can pickup a Byrd or Goldshon in FA.

If not, I'd go receiver 1st, FS (Lester, Jefferson, McDonald) 2nd and pick up a DT through FA. Though this, I'd be really jealous next year seeing Star and Hankins both performing well and knowing we could've have one of them, and I know the two of them will.

Just saying but if RR is still the HC next year, I gurantee the first two players that he will bring in to look at will be Star and Hankins. Remember, Rivera brought in Brockers very, very early in to look at. He knows he wanna upgrade the DT position. IMO, Brockers was just too raw to where he chose to pass on him. I don't think he will this time if he can on a Star or Hankins.

It's hard to trade a player with a contract like that. And let's face it, Dwill is our home run threat. Dwill set the game for Stewart to come in. Somehow, Rivera just sees it differently.

I agree I guess the reason I was doing it this way was because I want more picks but I'll be okay with what picks we have as long as they're good.

Don't want to trade either Beason or DLo, but it's a distinct possibility. That being said I really like this scenario, except the OT unless HE can play OG. Bell is playing very well outside, I don't understand the urge to move him inside. We don't know if he can even play inside.

By what standard is Bell playing "very well"? He's okay, and its always nice to have UDFA turn into useful players, but he is a lower tier RT by the standards of NFL starters. It's like some people are so used to terrible play that any time a player doesn't completely stink they are playing "really well".

      Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.

      Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.

      Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
