Your opinion: how long will Cam be a Panther?

Recommended Posts

Didn't he say in an interview last season that he would like to spend his whole career in Charlotte?

EDIT: here it is http://charlotte.cbslocal.com/2012/02/03/carolina-panthers-qb-cam-newton-my-home-will-always-be-in-charlotte/

That was from February.

(On playing football in Carolina):

“It means so much [to be a Carolina Panther]…you hear people respond to what their hopes are for the next season…it gives me hope as the quarterback to go out there and work harder.

(On if he would ever get too big for Charlotte):

“[i absolutely see myself finishing my career with the Panthers]. Absolutely. Right before I left [for the Pro Bowl and Indianapolis] I sat down and had a talk with Jerry Richardson, and I had a warmth in my heart that I would be able to call Carolina home for years to come, and that my home will always be in Charlotte. My motto is to [do everything I can to help make the Panthers an elite team].”

This could go either way, but fans need to try and put themselves in Cam's position.

It is clear he has a strong desire to win and has been frustrated at this organization's inability to put a winning product on the field.

If there isn't a dramatic change in management and on field performance, it will be difficult to convince Cam to sign another long term contract.

The Peppers situation is the blueprint of things to come if this organization can't figure out how to turn things around in the next year or two.

I think JR realizes this and that is one big reason why Hurney is no longer here.
