It's a shame too. But Shannon not branching out and being a disciplinarian rather than a coach was his undoing. With all the crap UM has gone through they were still in for the ACCCG. They self imposed the ban. UM should be able to recruit based on name recognition alone.

Golden is also bringing that old school mentality back and allowing past players on campus again. Why Shannon even banned them in the first place is beyond me.

I will say this, Miami is having to play catch up this year because UNC and FSU are dominating the ACC right now in football recruiting.

Not based on the class Golden is very close to bringing in.

And yes Golden is having to repair the damage done by Shannon and Coker. The shelves were bare when he got there. He's slowly restocking them with Miami level talent.

This is a stupidly deep Safety class and because of that and our other needs it's hard for me to be gung ho about taking one in the first two rounds when we can likely acquire second round talent at that position when we pick in the 4th.
